Sturrock denies Maybury interest

Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock says he will not be making a move for former Leicester City player Alan Maybury.

The former Republic of Ireland player had been linked with the Home Park side to replace Paul Connolly at right-back.

But Sturrock told the club's website that although he does not normally comment on speculation, he will not be signing Maybury.

"Alan Maybury will not be a Plymouth Argyle player next season. He is not on my radar and never had been," he said.

Maybury has been a free agent since his contract at Leicester expired at the end of last season after he spent the latter part of the term on loan at Aberdeen.

reckon i agree here, the problem was lots of potential and 'apparent' talent that never got realised. why risk taking on an overpriced under achiever?

Maybury is good enough to play in the championship, he showed that during the first few months at Leicester. Whether it was a question of waining commitment or continually poor management, he just couldn't keep it up.
