shaker1 Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 One view from a Shaker: A lot of our fans don't rate him, but god knows why. He was our second highest scorer last season, loads of "assists" and a real class act. Our loss is your gain. He might look like he's about 12 but he's got real talent - perhaps needs some more polishing and some have questioned his attitude, but a cracking player none the less.
Thracian Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 on the face of it, signing players from lower leagues is sniffed at cos they havent had that championship, premiership experience but so long as these guys are the better players, young and hungry than i am all for it.the guys with championship and prem experience did beggar all last season. i just decided They're exactly the sort we need. People being given a chance to prove something instead of people still reeling from the shock of dropping a level and finding it hard to cope with the reasons why.
Tilley Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 <_< I'm being realistic i.e not jumping for joy everytime we sign anyone who has played proffesional football before. I'm just refusing to get excited about any signing after the hype and aftermath of last season. <_< Precisely, I'm not excited about this signing at all. How many times in the last few seasons have we heard, fantastic young player, up and coming, will do a fantastic job for us. Yeah ok, I'll judge on performaces if/when he plays.
Lillehamring Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Why? On the day he got his (eh?) period he'd nice and relaxed. Now, if you'd said 'the day before you get your period', the joke would make sense and be funny. There's a pre in premenstrual tension for a reason. yeah, i actually didn't think about it as much as that - it tends to spoil the fun, and besides in my experience whilst the tension may be premenstrual, the menstrual bit certainly isn't 'nice and relaxed'... if your missus (you do have one, right?) is calmed before during and after, you're a lucky bstard and i'll wager that manwell's menstruation isn't exactly 'text book'---
Asha Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 It's funny how despite the excitement of the day, we still ended up discussing about Manwell menstruating.

I seem to remember some of your fans not being overly enamoured by Colin Kazim-Richards and Simon Whaley as well. You lot know how to produce a youngster, your record in recent years is very impressive. Can Adams be talked about in the same class as those 2?
