Nicky Adams Signs

I'm liking the look of our new midfield, young and very attack minded. Just need an older(ish) head to hold it together in the middle if Clem and Oakley are off.

Pearson is the complete opposite to Holloway. He's going for exciting youth whereas Hollaway went for older players. I wasn't fond of Pearsons appointment and won't be until I see the side play, but he's growing on me with these signings.

Exactly! Though I wouldnt mind keeping Clem

"He can play anywhere across the middle of the park and he has got a real eye for goal. I see him very much as a player with a big future ahead of him."

- Nigel pearson

quite some praise there then. more tha just a squad player.

Easy, easy. Let's not get carried away now.

Kaebi etc....

It's a bit like my golf - the anticipation is invariably better than the actual round.

But there's not been much to show enthusiasm about at City lately and I'm going to take this opportunity - be it justified by future events or otherwise. :D

Besides, the prospect of finally abandoning all hope is not an option. :scarf:

Because he has alot of experience of the higher leagues, he can help the youngsters and he could easily be good enough for league 1.

Didn't we say that about Clemence in the Championship?

And as for helping the youngsters, greeeaaaat, maybe he can be a new coach at the academy.

edit: I shouldn't bicker much about Clemence when today's topic is young LCFC signings. I'm very glad to see promising youngsters come through and was having a tough time convincing a friend who's sort of a converted Leicester City fan that youth>experience for the 2008/9 season in League One. We want promotion, but it's a rebuilding year.

Doubt its even that, two are to be set by tribunal.

1 is set by tribunal, Dyer is 25 and therefore its a straight bosman and we bought Morrison he wasn't out of contract

Fair enough.

Champions without defeat next season? I think so. :)

Bury have produced some very good players in recent years in Nugent, Kazim-Richards and Simon Whaley. Let's hope Adams is another one, he's certainly impressed there last season.

Bury actually have a very good record of players leaving and going on to perform at a higher level, Lucketti, Paddy Kenny and Dean Kiely all played there as well before going on to play in the Premiership.

we still have Kish

So you would prefer a stack of goals for A premier reserve side? Which is closer to L1?

I'd of preffered a stack of goals in League One to be honest. I actually don't think this is a bad signing I just don't quite get the mass excitement everytime we sign someone. Especially when the majority have little to no idea who good the player in question is.

Would you rather have Kish or Clem as a "tutor" to the younger players?

I wouldn't be fussed if we kept Kish, I thought we could've used his experience in midfield in the more testing parts of last season. The general type of player. Actually knows how to speak on the field.

Anyone found any bury fan opinions?

Actually the one I spoke to reckons he will be out of his depth but then can't quite explain why he's ended up with so many goals and assists. I guess at the end of the day we'll just have to wait and see.

I love the feeling of blind optimism that this point in the season brings. For now, I'll quite happily believe that he's some brilliant creative force who will be far better than Oakley was. :P

Its as much the idea of signing promising young players with something to prove rather than aging journeymen, but obviously reality might well not match the dream in all of these signings.

Probably trying to gloss over the fact that one of their best players has left for pastures new.

such a shame we decide to buy all thes players the day you get your period :)

<_< I'm being realistic i.e not jumping for joy everytime we sign anyone who has played proffesional football before.
