I love the tour but the limited sleep i get is a killer. Cadel Evans (yes an aussie) will start favourite this year after his close 2nd last year he should be hard to beat, i hope. How are you any way Raj.........you still a twat
dandannieldanok Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Can't wait personally, one of my favourite sports events of the year Alejandro Valverde is my tip
The Stig Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 I just hope it stays drug free this year. More drugs in this than a night out with Dwain Chambers.
dandannieldanok Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 My version of Pro Cycling Manager 2008 arrived in the post today Legendary game
Uncle Monty Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 I just hope it stays drug free this year. More drugs in this than a night out with Dwain Chambers. Ha drugs free, that is never going to happen in professional cycling. Shame though
Alexikokopops Posted 4 July 2008 Posted 4 July 2008 I'm supporting anyone who's not Danish. My mate who sits opposite me at work is Danish. I need something new to mock him about. I can't use football, we're just as shit, but at least we're not meant to be good at Tour de France.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 July 2008 Posted 5 July 2008 Alejandro Valverde is my tip Great start from Valverde, he could well stay in the Yellow Jersey until Paris now. He's got a very strong support team to help him and I can only see Cadel Evans and Frank Schleck posing him any real danger. David Millar was right up there in 11th.
Jonezy Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 I'm supporting anyone who's not Danish. My mate who sits opposite me at work is Danish. I need something new to mock him about. I can't use football, we're just as shit, but at least we're not meant to be good at Tour de France. You will enjoy the Olympics then, as we won't getting many medals.... On the Tour de France, you want the CSC - Saxo Bank to do crap, as that is a Danish team, but its a rather strong team, so be careful with the mocking. The only Danish rider this year is Nicki Sørensen, who rides for CSC - Saxo Bank, but he is only a water carrier/helper. Yet again I found myself getting into this after yet again announcing last year, that I have had enough of these doped wankers on bikes. Should be a great open race this year. Favorites for the overall race must be Valverde, Evans & Menchov. Outsiders must be CSC trio 2xSchleck & Sastre and Cunego. Others to watch are Kirchen, Schumacher and Ricco. Stage 17 with the Alpe D'Huez finish looks absolutely mouthwatering.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 July 2008 Posted 8 July 2008 They should just start the tour in the mountains would save 2 weeks
dandannieldanok Posted 8 July 2008 Posted 8 July 2008 Individual Time Trial today, should create a few more time gaps. Cadel Evans should be looking to dominate this or at least get ahead of Valverde for pyscological reasons more than anything. I think it will be between Fabian Cancellara and David Millar.

Cadel Evans should be looking to dominate this or at least get ahead of Valverde for pyscological reasons more than anything. I think it will be between Fabian Cancellara and David Millar. This something he has improved on immensly over the last few years coming from a mountain biking background its not something that he was accustomed to. He needs a good trial cos come the big mountains he may loss a bit of time as he doesnt have a great team. Go Cadel everyone in Aus is cheering for you (that know who you are)
Jonezy Posted 8 July 2008 Posted 8 July 2008 This short time trial has Cancellara written all over it. That guy is a tempo madman. Don't think Valverde is too sharp in this area, but I'm not sure. Millar might pull something off today, but I doubt it.

Very good stage for Evans, gaining on most of his rivals. Kudos to Millar for being so close.

The Stig Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Ha drugs free, that is never going to happen in professional cycling. Shame though My Dad said exactly the same thing to me today!
dandannieldanok Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 Great finish from Cavendish Cavendish has won again today, this guy is an excellent sprinter. I really hope he doesn't pull out because it would be great to see him win a sprint finish on the Champs-Elysees.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Cadel 6secs leading in to the pyrennes im extremly nervous
dandannieldanok Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 Cadel 6secs leading in to the pyrennes im extremly nervous Leading by one measly second to Frank Schleck after yesterday's climbs, great effort considering the crash from the day before. Can't believe Valverde cracked on the first major climb of the Tour, he's got Jens Voigt to thank for that, stunning ride from him to drag that impressive group away from the rest. Another one to bite the dust is Damiano Cunego who is fast turning into Christophe Moreau - big build up, huge expectations, perennial disappointment. Evans has obviously got to watch Schleck very carefully over the Alps, he's got the ability to simply pull away up a steep gradient, although Cadel can afford to lose a small chunk of time given the presence of a 50km time trial. Another stumbling block for Evans appears unexpectedly to be Christian Vandevelde. Has shown he's a decent time-trialist and that he can handle the pressure of the climbs.
Raj Posted 16 July 2008 Author Posted 16 July 2008 Didnt Cadel have a bad crash a few days ago and got mardy arse? He shoved his helmet at reporters and told them it'd answer any question? ive missed a few days so im abit behind on it!!
