Simi Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 I'll say it again the club should tell him to sign up or clear off so Pearson knows weather he needs to replace him or not Why are we replacing someone that has never figured in the first team?
Jimmy Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Why are we replacing someone that has never figured in the first team? well I am assuming the fact he was offered a new deal means he is in the managers plans
breadandcheese Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 well I am assuming the fact he was offered a new deal means he is in the managers plans Or more likely offering him a contract so that should he decide to go to Lincoln, we receive compensation as he is under 24.
Bert Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 well I am assuming the fact he was offered a new deal means he is in the managers plans Nige didn't offer him the contract though did he.
Jimmy Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Nige didn't offer him the contract though did he. no but he also didn't withdraw the offer did he
Bert Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 no but he also didn't withdraw the offer did he Dear me, you'll try and make up anything to make out you're not wrong won't you. I think NP has had other things to worry about really.
Jimmy Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 Dear me, you'll try and make up anything to make out you're not wrong won't you. I think NP has had other things to worry about really. I think if NP didn't want Dodds at the club he wouldn't be training here as he would of been told he has no future and to leave immediately, if you can't realise that then that's your problem
Jay Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 Nige didn't offer him the contract though did he. but it's not about wanting him when you offer a young player a contract!! we only offered Sheehan a one year deal knowing full well that he was not going to sign and was off to Leeds.. why because if we have offered him a contract being a young player we are entitled to a transfer fee same with Dodds because we have offered him a deal Lincoln would need to give us a few pennies to sign him
Thracian Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 but it's not about wanting him when you offer a young player a contract!!we only offered Sheehan a one year deal knowing full well that he was not going to sign and was off to Leeds.. why because if we have offered him a contract being a young player we are entitled to a transfer fee same with Dodds because we have offered him a deal Lincoln would need to give us a few pennies to sign him Why would our club offer a one-year contract with a potential outlay of perhaps £100,000 just to be sure of collecting "a few pennies" from Lincoln? Doubtless they offered what they thought he was worth as a likely bench sitter or worse and left Dodds to work out whether he'd rather risk a long spell of idleness or try to find a club where he'd have more chance of a game. As for Sheehan he's played a good number of first team matches already and his record is a reasonably good one. He may well have been offered what we could sensibly afford and found it simply fell short of the three-year deal offered by Leeds. Weighing it up alongside his likely chance of a starting place here if the fast-tracking Mattock stays another season then it's no great surprise that he opted for the trip north.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 July 2008 Posted 12 July 2008 I think if NP didn't want Dodds at the club he wouldn't be training here as he would of been told he has no future and to leave immediately, if you can't realise that then that's your problem How's he going to know whether he wants him at the club without seeing him?
