Just noticed

most people have predicted just 1 manager next year!

That would be unheard of.

Is that because everyone thinks Pearson is great or because he has passed Milans 3 minutes and your sacked rule?

I think it's more a case of hope blended with pre-season optimism and good spirit.

  • We are going to finish in the top 6 scoring between 75 and 79 points from netting 70-74 goals.
  • We will be rampant in Cup competitions reaching the 4th Round in the League Cup, the 3rd or the 4th in the FA Cup and lifting the Paint Pot Cup at Wembley.
  • We reckon Pearson will still be with us this time next year and that he will only loan one more player this season.
  • We think N'Gotty should go now and that Oakley will be the clock which the team ticks by.

Looks like those who expressed an opinion weren't far off the mark although I never for one second dreamed that Fryatt would be the daemon in front of goal that he has proved himself to be. Anyone fancy saying how the second half of the season is going to pan out?

You have to be delighted with 44 points from 20 matches, goals coming from midfield, back2back wins and having people able to run the flanks. That, and the very realistic possibility of lifting the League 1 title.

Anyone interested, here's our thoughts from a year ago - it's always good grabbing a gander at these things for pearlers like:

WE WILL NOT GET RELEGATED.

My view isn't based on the last 5 games.

It's based on a belief in the ability of Holloway to turn this around.

I still think we will get promotion, although I am weary about getting carried away

Next Saturday and the following Friday will be very intersting indeed.

If we win those I really think we can push on.

What gives me confidence is the fact we don't seem to have hit top form and we are top!

A settled team might see an increase in performance level in the second half of the season.

However like every club we have to avoid serious injury to 2 or 3 players.

Personally I would sign a steady eddie in goal during January as well.
