This is essentially how all systems work. The people at the top restructure and add additional layers. They then use line management to tell people what to do and blame them if it doesn't work- essentially ridding themselves of accountability. Over time they get further and further away from the technical reality of opperations, make poorer and poorer decisions and blame more and more people but themselves. They continually distract themselves with short term 'fixes' that makes them fell like they have done something and everything is going to be alright, and then are baffled with why it doesn't! They set themselves a life style, try to convince themselves and other people they are entitled to it. They use questionable former glories to convince people they are right, and then they just carry on making things worse and worse! This is how toxic organisational cultures develop!!! Needs someone prepared to get close to the problems, name them for what they are, chase out the personal life style merchants and reset with a team of hard working, hungry and talented people. Instead we just do the same thing over and over and are surprised that we just get worse and worse. Baffling!!!

It is ridiculous the amount of defensive mistakes we make. We need to put together a hybrid that doesn't involve passing it at the back. We also need not to be playing players like luke thomas.

Would it really be that hard to prove (a genuine question). Surely a view of their performance before they cheated and their perfomance after would show the disparity? Also no other club the size if man city originally achieved such domanance after large investment? (Arguably chelsea but they were prior to this, and liverpool but they started from a much higher base). They could probably take the average pace of revenue growth for similar clubs to provide a benchmark?

On reflection, although it has taken a very long time at least the authorities have made the charge. The precedent abroad has been relegation (Juventus and Rangers) and stripping of titles (Juventus). I would expect a similar sanction to be considered due to the size of the breaches and the fact that these breaches have been the stepping stone for man city to become an elite club. Its important to consider the position of man city at the start of these charges and the impact of their success in attracting players! Interesting times indeed!

I feel this was the reaction to us winning it! It became a joke because we won it! I remember those ridiculous instructions to punishing any holding from corners after we won the league which lasted about 6 weeks until they realised we weren't going to do very well that season!

The rules have ruined football, it feels like a game decided by business people now and not about assembling the best teams. They need to lift these ridiculous rules that the biggest clubs work around, and they need to introduce a deposit fund against spending- you can spend what you want but you need to be able to demonstrate you can pay the contracts of all the players you buy fully- if this is not demonstrated you are docked points. A redistribution of these ludicrous fees paid.

If it holds it will set a precedent for sure. If it is out of line with the punishments given for other clubs the premier league will be challenged. If found guilty any club who missed out by one place for anything in the affected seasons will likely claim against them including champions league qualification, European qualification, relegation- that in itself might be 24 claims and some of those very large! It looks like if the appeal is not successful it is going to be a real mess!

He does feel like the best cb for this system I would say. 😊

Its a fair point. I just don't like how the premier league academies chew through players now. He is as likely to drift into obscurity at any one of the big teams.

If Dortmund are genuinely interested he needs to go there and we need to insert as high a sell on clause as possible. Premier league teams just chew through youth players and so few ever make it.

Its the first step and hopefully build some confidence. The new players look like they might bring something given time. Playing out from the back is our issue and a weakness from crosses later in the game. I think we are lucky we have 2 away games in a row, gives us a chance at barnsley next week to get some momentum which hopefully we can bring back home.

He needs a big big result today! He shouldn't have called out the young players, very few people like the style of play as it is only effective at the highest level. However I just want us to win and get promoted. He needs to workout how to win game after game. I would have sacked him, but he has been given a chance so needs to deliver.

I don't think they can play the style he wants either! I reserve judgement ubtul we stop gifting teams goal after goal pretending we can play barecelona style football!

We have not got the players required to play this style of play. He need to realise that intially he need to focus on getting the best out of our squad. Then over multiple windows mold it to the style he want to play. (Just as a disclaimer that is not the style I want us to play, however how he is implementing it is ridiculous!)

I agree regards Thomas. Too weak and positioning is poor. With the right partner and playing the right style Souttar will be fine. With Thomas, they seem to end up scoring from whereever he is playing. Last year we seemed to let in an inexcusable amount of goals coming of the left. Yesterday 2 were from the centre of our defence!

He's the one of Okoli and Faes I would like to see stay.

For me its based on if we start the youngsters. If we go down this route I think its important we are a little more patient.

It is actually slowing getting better! Hopefully it means Page is stayong now also. 🤞

Drop out the centre backs and we certainly have had a complete first team revamp! I would be quite happy with this team if we put the new Finnish CB in ahead of Thomas or Souttar (longer term). We might have to suck up some mistakes to start due to the youth we have in the team, however it feels like it is a team to get behind longer term.

It a big game certainly. We will see if Russell Martin has learnt from the Burton game and the Ipswich game. Ipswich was much improved and hopefully this is recognised. I am hoping some of those who got a chance at Ipswich start today, but also we tweak our style more in line with what we saw at Ipswich. The sooner we get out of the mindset we are better than the teams we are facing and we will over-ride them with our style the better. We need to adapt our tactics to the teams we play because all that really matters this season is results. Personally I am longing for the day we are more explosive in attack, even if it at the cost of some possession stats.

In reality, we need Pearson as DoF but that is not going to happen sadly. 😭

This would be so disappointing. I was hoping he would be a central player this year. I know he is young and can't play every minute. There are so many better ways to make us more defensive than sidelining LP.

I woukd also arfue we are starting to produce talent we have never done before, I cannot remember a time so many of our youth players have been so coveted by the top clubs. Its just the rest of the organisation that seems to be the problem!
