Moreton Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Did anyone from this board go to The Beeswing on Saturday? No..
Ric Flair Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Is this where you drape your arms in honey, attract lot's of bees on to your forearms and do a spot of windmilling? The one with the most bees left on their arms is the winner and everyone get's pissed on hot toddies? Never been.
Kilworthfox Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Did anyone from this board go to The Beeswing on Saturday? yes! Me Daggers Sir Finway Lisa SUAS Syston if I did notsee anyone else sorreh!
Hackneyisblue Posted 28 July 2008 Author Posted 28 July 2008 yes!Me Daggers Sir Finway Lisa SUAS Syston if I did notsee anyone else sorreh! I was wondering what you thought of the behaviour of our fans as the pub got closed.
Kilworthfox Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 I was wondering what you thought of the behaviour of our fans as the pub got closed. I left at 20 to 3 and did not see the pub getting closed. When i left there was 8 police cars there a dog section and more on the way. I have to say that everyone was happy with our gans behaviour at 1:20pm ish as I got a drink in and the barmaid said herself that we were behaving very well and that the pub would stay open longer than 2pm as we were being so well behaved and were obviously bringing in more money & fans than they were expecting. The more exciteable fans that we have were fine, the coppers did drive past the pub a few times and a pair of them came up just after 2 but all was fine IMO. however for some reason about 2:15 ish the police decided to desend on the Beeswing and make their presence known which IMO was odd and over the top. The fans were fine being left to their own devises and would have been off by 3 so why the need to turn up on mass? I saw some singing at the coppers when they turned up on mass, but IMO it was rediculusly OTT and should have been handled with 0 - 2 police not 10-20.
Simi Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Sounds about right. Police making a situation a lot more tense than it should of been? Par for the course with police at football matches these days, which is sad. I'm sure if the fans had been left to chill out have a few drinks and a sing-song, all would have been fine. But when the police start moving in to "calm things down" fans react and then it provokes a situation. Football fans get pushed around like sheep, I know the majority of us would just like to get on with it and have a laugh. Granted, not all fans are well behaved, the need for police in these situations is minimal.

syston_fox Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 The pub was due to close anyway and wasn't as a result of our fans!

Hackneyisblue Posted 28 July 2008 Author Posted 28 July 2008 The pub was due to close anyway and wasn't as a result of our fans! Not exactly true http://fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=47723
syston_fox Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Not exactly truehttp://fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=47723 We were told at about 1:30 that they were planning on shutting around 2:30 anyway as everyone was off to watch the match.
Floating Fox Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Was a quality pub. There was an excessive amount of police for saying nothing had happened apart from Jobbers lot singing a few leicester songs. Highly doubt the fans did anything to get the place closed, we left about 2:15, so wouldn't know fo'sure. Quote from betleys roof - A load of embarrassing knobends - allegedly from Corby - started getting all leery in the boozer. Wouldn't shut it. So the staff rang the bell about 2.15 and called the OB. Of course the knobends were meek as mice when the OB are there. Then they start up again in the ground. Invading the pitch and stripping off. All a real hoot for all of 10 seconds. They refused to open the pub after the game until the knobends had fooked off - which was why the bar maid was able to relax in the sun and give her nether regions an airing.
Austin Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 BigJamo did. If its the right Jamo i'm thinking of. Your not wrong there Squire cya for Mk pal Going Stockport? Edit: Oh and I heard the barmaid say to some Local that it was gettingshut at half 2 cos we were drinking them dry haha!

Austin Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Is that gospal? I don't remember anything bad happening at all! Was gunna post something similar .. Didnt really see much wrong going on at all .. Bit of banter and general laugh .. ??
Kilworthfox Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Was gunna post something similar .. Didnt really see much wrong going on at all .. Bit of banter and general laugh .. ?? Exactly there was a boke in a Spurs top who got a ribbing and a bloke in a Man U top, nothing was said to him at all. A few Kettering fans past and there was 1 or 2 songs but on the whole now't that needed any more than a police poping in and keeping things calm and under control, not the cavalry of Kettering dusting for prints.
Daggers Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Is that gospal? I don't remember anything bad happening at all! There was nothing up to twenty to three. I think someone's memory may have been effected by too many pints in the sun.
Kilworthfox Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 There was nothing up to twenty to three. I think someone's memory may have been effected by too many pints in the sun. Were you in there before the Beeswing then? I have to say we all thought so
General Smuts Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 Is that the L1 crew acting up again? Is this what im to expect next satdee?

Police where bound to turn up like that not knowing if anything was going to happen, but after reading that you'd thought he had just done an essay on Football factory .. Bit of banter and a nice time in the Sun is seen as crime .. fook, maybe they should spend that much time finding rapists and paedo's .. same old plod ..
