kylestyle06 Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 http://www.clubfanzine.com/MK_dons/v2.showNews.php?id=12858 BF: Hello tell us who you are and a bit about you and the team you supportLCF: I'm Beaumontfox and I'm a woman who knows her football!! It's been my username on several football forums since about 97. I support Leicester City for whatever sins I committed in a previous life. Now 33(eek!) I've been a regular home and away attendee since I was 16. Having only missed a couple of games(away) since this addiction took hold. Leicester City USED to belong to an elite club which had never played outside the top two divisions. Now we are officially crap. BF: So this is your first game in the third tier of English football. A bit of a culture shock eh? LCF: In one way no, because it's something I've been expecting for the last couple of seasons, having watched the shambles on the pitch I've watched the inevitability of that final day of last season was a realism that was hard to take. But my heart is hating every minute of being in this godforsaken league (no offence) I don't want to be here any longer than possible, but the prospect of copying Forest and Leeds and not going straight back up is a probability that concerns me. BF: Do you think teams are going to play extra hard against you this season? LCF: Obviously. We'll get the boring chants of 'You're not famous anymore'( Our witty lot will probably start those off!) The teams visiting the Walkers Stadium will up there game because of playing in surroundings they aren't used to. It'll be an away day out to remember for most clubs! BF: Leicester City: Bouncing straight back or doing a Leeds and Forest? Discuss. LCF: Head: Looking at the squad we currently have and having seen some decent passing (PASSING!!!) football in the pre-season games, plus with the knowledge that there IS some funds for the manager, then the club should definitely be looking at a top two finish. Heart: Scared shitless that we'll have a nightmare start and by Christmas knowing that we are even worse than last season(if possible!) and will have to do it all again the following season. BF: We are a tad annoyed with you guys. The season before last you pinched Martin Who? from us (bwahahaha) and this summer you wanted Paul Ince, you failed but then decided to take Lloyd Dyer instead. Any plans to take Roberto di Matteo yet? LCF: Martin Allen: Feck knows what went on there. Lots of rumours about misconduct and egos clashing etc but the only ones who know the truth have kept their gobs firmly shut. Whatever went on it set the tone for the rest of the season. Paul Ince: tbh I wanted him last summer when we got Allen. Knew he wouldn't come to us this time round so wasn't disappointed when your lot refused us permission to speak to him. Lloyd Dyer: He's done ok so far pre-season, nowt special though. di Matteo: You can keep him. We've got enough with the foreigners we have at the club already(both on and off the pitch!) BF: Lloyd Dyer. He has said that he’s glad to be at a Premiership club. Has anyone told him you aren’t in the Premiership? LCF: Maybe he meant the facilities? Cos he must be a typical thick footballer if he meant the team! BF: Martin Who? brought in about 75 new players in the two weeks he was in charge of you. A few more managers down the line do you recognise many of your players? LCF: We signed two players whilst Allen was on a family holiday the week he joined us. Three others were the responsibilty of some bloke who supposedly had good contacts abroad(And was subsequently sacked by Mandaric a couple of weeks later). I've been told Allen signed 4 of the 13(think it was 13!) who came in. And 2 of those were in the first week of the season! Marton Fulop and Clive Clarke. Not many of those who came in last summer are still here! BF: Who was to blame for your relegation: Allen, Megson, Holloway or Mandaric? LCF: Mandaric and Holloway and the useless tossers on the pitch. Mandaric because his decision making was pisspoor in regards to the whole managerial situation. The useless tossers on rhe pitch because looknig back on key matches where chance after chance after chance went begging and they couldn't put the ball in the back of the net(Bristol City at home being the main one) but the one who holds the ultimate responsiblity that that carrot munching dwarf Holloway. Couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag, tactically inept, clueless when it came to substitutions, formations and ideas. Playing the only striker who was scoring the goals out wide for most of his tenure was a joke. In the last four games of the season, the first two said striker started up front and scored two goals earning us four points. He then inexplicably puts him back out wide for the last two games, losing us up front the only player who could create something out of nothing. And that final game...putting out a defensive formation and going for a 0-0. And even when he knew things weren't going our way elsewhere, he did nothing to change things til less than 10 minutes to go. I HATE that man for being the one who in the end, took my club down to this level. BF: We’ve not played you as MK Dons in a league fixture. Any other clubs in this league you’ve not played before (cup games don’t count)? LCF: Hartlepool. tbh I couldn't tell you for definite who we haven't played in the League, I know which clubs I never seen us play though! Cheltenham, Leyton Orient, Carlise, Yeovil, Bristol Rovers and yours. The older fans remember playing some of those waaaaay back in time. BF: Will the new boss make it to Christmas? LCF: As long as we are doing reasonably well I can't see Mandaric having any choose but to stick with Pearson. He's made far too many ego-driven judgements and he must know whatever happens this manager MUST be given the time, especially as he is bringing in quite a youthful look to the side. BF: A prediction of the score please. LCF: 1-2 to you. First game of the season to a promoted side? We always lose. BF: A message to Dons fans from you would read ? LCF: Hope you have a good season, just not as good as us hopefully! Crickey! We were talking to a lady fox and wasn't she knowledgeable. We'd like to thank BeaumontFox for her time and wish her and her team well for the season.
lildave3 Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Don't think so, she's on The Football Forum though.
Thracian Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Should be easy enough to establish if it's an FT poster. Just write down all the women on here who "know their football" and ask em both. Sorry. Only joking!
MC Prussian Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 BF was an institution on the old OS messageboard and has now switched to Talking Balls and LCFC Online. She's a true addict, a passionate fan and I have known her personally for a couple of years now. I like that straightforward style in that interview. No sweettalking, although a tad bit pessimistic for my taste. Oh well, we always have high expectations at the start of a season, only for them to be blown away by weak, disappointing performances. I'd still go for a home win comes Saturday. I still have hope. Teehee.

Corky Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 She knows her stuff and is passionate. Our female supporters know a hell of a lot about football.
Daggers Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 She knows her stuff and is passionate. Our female supporters know a hell of a lot about football. She seems to think the internet is her vehicle to carry out a one-woman campaign against a rather harmless couple who have never struck me as anything other than 'nice' whenever I've met them. I think we can delay the beatification for a bit.
