Simi Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Nice stadium, they should of filled the corners in.For those of you saying they wont fill it, I disagree its a new stadium people from Colchester will go there just so see it etc.. Leicester were only getting 19/20,000 at filbert street we moved into the Walkers and filled it in week in week out. If you've seen the prices they're charging, you will know why they won't fill it.
Ashley Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Why should they fill the sides in? Making it another boring bowl. I just think it would of made the ground look better to be honest. If you've seen the prices they're charging, you will know why they won't fill it. We'lll have to wait and see, your most probably right Ched.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Disabled sections at the back again Idiots. Problem being...??
Ultra Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 If you've seen the prices they're charging, you will know why they won't fill it. Especially as it's miles out of town, with NO decent pubs nearby..
Jack Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Don't really like it but I suppose it is better than Layer Road.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Problem being...?? It's located near the nesting ground of the hungry disabled people eating Gremlins of Colchester, allegedly. Who's going pub on Saturday?
Guest Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 Especially as it's miles out of town, with NO decent pubs nearby.. Exactly. Let's put a stadium miles out in the middle of nowhere. To think, plenty wanted City to do something like that. Let's think of the convenience of the car driving public, and not those who do not want to or are not able to use cars. The cynic in me also sees the £ signs flashing in the eyes of the club's directors at the thought of several thousand bored footy fans needing somewhere to eat and drink before the game.....
Floating Fox Posted 10 August 2008 Posted 10 August 2008 Problem being...?? If people stand, the disabled section can't see the pitch. They have massive problems in the away end at Reading because of this, obviously the away fans are more likely to stand as well. They should be at the front.

They should be at the front. If it's designed so that the wheelchair user's eyeline is blocked by someone standing then it's obviously a completely flawed design anyway. But yeah, let's bung them down the front. Why should they get a good view anywhere? They're used to being stuck down the front and not being able to see anything anyway.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 August 2008 Posted 11 August 2008 You can see fine from the front? I think the only way you'd understand this is to sit in a wheelchair in the sections around the pitch at the Walkers - or even the ones a couple of rows up - and then compare it with somewhere like Northampton where the wheelchair section is at the back of the stand. The difference is vast.
Floating Fox Posted 17 August 2008 Posted 17 August 2008  They only got 5340 for their opening game. Thats less than layer Road holds.
Corky Posted 17 August 2008 Posted 17 August 2008 :laugh:They only got 5340 for their opening game. Thats less than layer Road holds. So it's not going to be full in three weeks then. Dear me, at least our board had the foresight to build the new ground near the old one.
