Lillehamring Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 sorry, couldn't find a general thread on this, and not thinking about any specific games, but just watching the build up to the arsenal v west brom game, and quite loking forward to it, following that i'll be keeping an eye on everton v blackburn... then off to a work party, so the missus ain't gonna be best pleased...
whitlock Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Anyone know why The Albion dont have a shirt sponsor this year?
Matt Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Anyone know why The Albion dont have a shirt sponsor this year? The shirt they are wearing is disgusting.
Brainy Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Anyone know why The Albion dont have a shirt sponsor this year? There was something a while back in the BBC Gossip column saying that they might start the season without a shirt sponsor. Cant remember why though.
Lillehamring Posted 16 August 2008 Author Posted 16 August 2008 here's an interesting twist, fabregas is out of my fantasy footy team, but the unknown meite steps up... there lit looks like the sort of thing schools played in during the late 70s early 80s
Lillehamring Posted 16 August 2008 Author Posted 16 August 2008 ha ha - velkommen til premier leaugen thats west brom down, then...
whitlock Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 There was something a while back in the BBC Gossip column saying that they might start the season without a shirt sponsor.Cant remember why though. Ah right cheers mate, yeahh shirt is dirtt! Nice goal from Arsenal though
Jordan Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Already a goal for Arsenal, and I'm sure they'll have several more before the final whistle.
BoneHead. Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Already a goal for Arsenal, and I'm sure they'll have several more before the final whistle. Nice goal aswell. Bendtner over Van Persie though?
Samilktray Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 West Brom are still in talks with potential sponsors therefore haven't got anything on there shirts yet.
Unit Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 not got sky but have seen the score, any good? does it look like arsenal will shit 'em?
BoneHead. Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Other then the goal boring first half IMO. Vela and V.Persie will change the game when they come on
fox123 Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Other then the goal boring first half IMO.Vela and V.Persie will change the game when they come on Can't see Van Persie being risked (aparently he has a bit of a niggle) unless West Brom can musture a goal from somewhere. Vela I think will get an opportunity
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 not got sky but have seen the score, any good? does it look like arsenal will shit 'em? There negotiating a relegation clause in to there deal
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 If Vela is as good as he is on fm he will be the best player in the leaue by next year
Lillehamring Posted 16 August 2008 Author Posted 16 August 2008 i started flicking to the athletics, and have kinda stayed there, i mean arsenal look great, but WB seem very resilient...
Jordan Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Pundits are idiots. I was watching an ESPN/Star Sports feed from Asia and their "expert" (sounded like he was Scottish, but I didn't catch his name nor recognize him as a former player). He was asked why Arsenal didn't build up a bigger lead despite dominating the first half, and he said that Arsenal needed to get more "width." After that, when asked what Arsène Wenger is telling his team at halftime, he said, "He's telling them to keep their composure, to be more clinical in the final third of the pitch." No, dickhead, that's what everybody watching at the pub who have had a few drinks are saying at halftime. I bet Monsieur Wenger has a much better grasp on what's going on and what to tell his team. I was stunned by such analysis, which was completely devoid of ... well, actual analysis. Then I realized what I'd forgotten over the past few months: just about all football punditry is chock full of generalities, clichés, and talking about what players are "quality." Football's back!
Phube Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Already a goal for Arsenal, and I'm sure they'll have several more before the final whistle. lol
Jordan Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 lol Hey, I didn't say it'd be today's final whistle!
MC Prussian Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Already a goal for Arsenal, and I'm sure they'll have several more before the final whistle. Arsenal is the new Chelsea. Leading 1-0 and holding on to it.
Phube Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Hey, I didn't say it'd be today's final whistle! Good answer!!!!
Matt Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Please, someone explain to me how Arsenal are 'such a good team to watch' and why people wank over them so much, Everyone knows my hate for Arsenal and no doubt i'm abit bias but trying to take as much unbias view as I can Arsenal are a very boring team to watch IMO, what is so great about them. Normally I watch Arsenal games because I support the team the playing 99% of the time and love watching people wind Arsenal up, however today I just got bored by 20 minutes gone I just had to turn over.
Lillehamring Posted 16 August 2008 Author Posted 16 August 2008 just tuned into the everton blackburn game... looks kinda meaty, players flying in everywhere....
Jordan Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Boro 0-0 Spurs in the 55th minute. After Spurs' great preseason, I'm surprised to see Boro really having the upper hand. Berbatov on the bench for Tottenham, probabl resting up for his big move. (just got up to warm up, though)
BoneHead. Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 As ever Tottenham dont live up to the hype. I know its first game but...
