**** off all.

Everyone who given Fryatt an 8 in this thread so far, **** off.

He was w*nk.

I'll give him the free kick, it was fantastic. But other than that he was absolutely shite.

8?!

Behave.

Martin 7 - Distribution has improved greatly in 7 days, never really troubled, when he was, comfortably dealt with.

Gilbert 7.5 - Mr dependable, solid, quick, supports the attack, a good all round display.

Hobbs 8 - Monster. Wins everything in the air, solid as a rock.

Morrison 7.5 - Still shits me up when he lets the ball run over his head, but getting stronger and stronger with every game.

Tunchev 7 - Defended really well, get turned a few times toward the end, but still did really well.

Dickov 6 - Not a winger, but the work ethic is always there, has a great touch.

Dyer 9 - Man of the match without a doubt. 2 goals, some brilliant runs and done his bit in defence.

King 8 - Worked hard, won battles, passed well got into some good shooting positions.

Oakley 7.5 - I thought he was shite in the first half, but he stepped up in the second half, scored a great goal made some good surging runs, tackled well.

Howard 8 - Brilliant again, worked so hard, won a lot of 50/50's, made space for others, brought others into the game, harshly had a goal ruled out.

Fryatt 7 - A great free-kick and a key part in Oakley's goal.

Gradel 6.5 - Didn't see much of the ball due to the Lloyd Dyer show, but still did well, whipping in some great balls, teasing their defenders.

DJ and Powell weren't on long enough to be rated.

Paul Dickov 6 (He's a quality striker but I've still to find anyone who understands us playing Dickov out wide.

I was thinking about this before the game on Wednesday and wondered whether the thinking behind this is to keep experience around youth - so Dickov is in front of Gilbert and besides King. But I'm sure eventually sense will pre-vail and Gradel will start.

I'd like to first add that IU haven't seen anybody else's ratings (not that it would make a blind bit of difference):

Martin 7.5 - Very commanding all game, controlled his area well and dealt with the comfortable saves he had to make all game.

Gilbert 7 - First half he made a vital contribution to the team defensively, making important challenges and a save off the line in the first half. Probably the best I've seen Kerrea perform in a Leicester shirt.

Hobbs 8.5 - Outstanding first half, nothing got past him. He did make a couple of errors, but the amount that he stopped more than maade up for this. I'm glad we've got him, he's a very good player.

Morrison 7 - Can't argue with his performance alongside Hobbs today. Both were very solid and and helped the cause towards the clean sheet.

Tunchev 6 - Clearly not a left back but did his job well enough. I hope to see Powell start there next game but Tunchev can fill in OK when required.

Dickov 6 - Again, struggled on the right wing and also made a very stupid challenge that earned him a booking, and rightly so. Defended soundly enough, but we really do need somebody else for this position.

Oakley 6 - Took his goal very well, although not a lot else to show for it.

King 7 - I love the way he's always a threat on goal. He had two attempts today - one hit the bar and the otehr flashed dangerously close. I'm liking him at the moment.

Dyer 8.5 - Two goals from left wing, great showing from Lloyd. He's just starting to improve for me, and I'm liking him more by the game.

Howard 7 - Always won his fair share of balls in the air, and continues to hold the ball up well. I thought he was unlucky to have his goal disallowed.

Fryatt 6 - Right, you all know I'm not a Fryatt fan, and today justified why. I think a 6 rating is generous personally, he only gets it because of his goal. Caught offside a frustrating amount of times, and missed two chances he really should have put away. Saying this, a great free-kick to put us 3 up.

Subs:

Gradel 6 - A peach of a ball for Howard's "goal", looked to put in the cross earlier than usual.

After looking back on the game - Fryatt was nowhere near as bad as you and Ben made him out to be.

He may have been caught offside a few times, but he payed a key role in Oakleys goal and had a number of other chances.

If he's as bad as you make out, surely he shouldn't be nailed on to finish his chances?

Eh?

For the first goal he missed a great chance with a poor effort. He wasn't passing it early enough, if it all. And even when he did pass it at the right time it was a shit ball.

That's the thing, he didn't finish his chances well enough for me. I still can't believe he's getting 8 ratings from some, it's unbelievable. He blatantly should have scored the chance before Lloyd got his first goal, and he should have scored after he's rounded the keeper.

His goal came from a set-piece, admittedly it was good, but his open play wasn't good today. You even said yourself he was poor today! He was offside at least 4 times today, not good enough, and it's only because we won 4-0 that he's receiving good ratings.

Why though? He's crap.

He wasn't at his best today, i will say that.

I'm pretty confident Dickov started as a winger at Arsenal!?

He may well have done.

Doesn't mean it's his best position, though.

One goal and an assist out of nothing represents an important contribution for any striker. Enough for an eight in itself if you simply consider the requirements of a striker's job and the outcome from what he did.

But Fryatt got in and around the box to have other chances. He did well to round the goalkeeper and not so well to miss from an acute angle. His earlier chance should have been taken too but the point is that he is now constantly putting pressure on defenders and finding those chances, something that wasn't happening when he was playing so badly.

He is much faster these days to close people down, he is no longer playing 20 minutes then disappearing and he is clearly working well with Howard when previously he didn't work especially well with anyone.

It is not when strikers miss chances that I'm concerned, it's when they don't have any and don't make any. But both Fryatt and our team are creating chances in abundance.

That's a fair assessment tbh.

I marked Fryatt a seven and no player should have been marked lower then that.

It was an all round good away win against an admittedly poor side but you can only beat what's in front of you.

Campbell wasn't on long enough to mark but for the short time he was on he looked woeful.

<Team ratings>

I agree with the whole damn lot aside from I'd give more credit to a brilliant team performance from Howard.

Martin 7 - Made himself big when they were anywhere near our box, very good game.

Gilbert 7 - Really like Gilbert. Both defensively and going forward, he always looks comfortable, & he his so fast, no one is getting past him.

Hobbs 8 - This guy is a unit. Nothing gets past him, solid as a rock. Get him on the cheap from Liverpool before Monday night!

Morrison 7 - Very impressed with Morrison. Him & Hobbs look like they have been playing together for 3 or 4 seasons.

Tunchev 5 - Not a left back, wasn't ever looking to make the pass, just getting rid up the pitch or out of play. Still doesn't look fit. Would like to see him at CB, but how can Pearson drop Morrison or Hobbs?

Dickov 6 - Fights for the cause, chases everything, but, he's not a right winger. Surely Gradel has to play there?

Oakley 6 - Great goal, but I still haven't seen a solid 90 minutes from Oakley.

King 7 - Another solid performance by King, got his shooting boots on and was unluckly not to score.

Dyer 9 - Two goals, great performance. Always running, crossing, trying to make something happen.

Howard 7 - I have given 'Big Steve' alot of stick, but over the course of the last few games, he is finding form we haven't seen since he got here. Really impressed with Howard recently, wins everything, gives 100%, works well with Fryatt, good to see.

Fryatt 6 - Not his best performance of the season, took his free-kick well and laid off a good ball to Oakley for the goal, but should have had a goal or two from open play.

5's and 6's?

Get out of town!

DJ pulled a 4/5 at best with his insipid cameo but a 5 for The Tunch? Not a hope.

First half I was behind Tunch, on the left hand side, & everytime the ball came near him, his first touch was awful, his distribution was poor. Maybe it's just a different view from where people are sat?

Oakley & Fryatt hardly deserve anything better? Both took their goals well, granted. But Fryatt didn't play aswell as he has at home this season.

Oakley's second half performance was good, but in the first half he was crap. Hitting balls up in the air on the edge of the box, playing us into trouble, giving it short on one or two occasions. I would like to see a solid 90 minutes from him.

Don't agree - but I totally agree with you on Hobbs, each time I see him I am more impressed.

Then we will agree to disagree

But yeah, Hobbs is very good. Doubt we have a chance of getting him on a permanant though.
