The Reverend Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 I'd agree that Champions League's games are more important to be honest, and why shouldnt they be? They are playing with their team-mates in the biggest footballing competition in the World. People are saying they want England to lose tonight so why are people getting so annoyed that JT has said this? Nobody can argue Terry's passion either, who else would be suited to the job? Bigger than the World Cup? That view is shared by the players, and quite frankly, thats why we're crap, and always will be until this attitude is destroyed. And i think we'll lose tonight.

Tilley Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 We will lose, I think. Never paying for Setanta Watching a feed on net.
Rodderz Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 We will lose, I think.Never paying for Setanta Watching a feed on net. Yeh thats what i was gonna do. but i can hear the pub calling
The Reverend Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Sorry I meant to put club competition in the World. We will draw tonight. I was'nt singling you out, just you mentioned it. While the players think that club is more important than country, England will never do well. Does anyone think that for example, the Brazilians think that representing their club is more important than playing for Brazil? Or the Italians? Of course they dont. They love playing for their country, they relish it, they live for it. Thats why our players are'nt anywhere near as good for England than they are for their clubs, because they are only playing half heartedly. This view was perfectly summed up by that scouse twat Jamie Carragher.
Simi Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Wanted to post in this thread about 10 minutes ago, but seems I had a bit of cleaning to do. I think we'll lose. Number of reasons. Liverpool vs Man U on Saturday being one of them. Others include Croatia caring about their country. They have a manager who is competent and willing to play the right players. Many, many more. I'm not going to bother picking a team, because deep down we all know what it will be.

I would rather see Oakley playing for us week in week out than travelling around Europe to sit on the bench for England, so I can see where Carragher is coming from. I was just using Oakley hypothetically, just in case someone takes it the wrong way.

There's a reason for that, i am a Leicester fan and have been all my life. How many players i wonder are currently playing for their boyhood club? Gerrard? Fcking Carragher was an Evertonian as a lad, so how that **** has the cheek, i have no idea. But it doesnt mean the players should think like that. They should want to give their all for club & country, not just club.
Alexikokopops Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Effiectively your correct. Getting beat by a Premiership team in the final or showing your pride in another country and winning the world cup. Seems like opinions on a Forum are not allowed here. I'm sorry to bring this up again, but where did getting beat by a Premiership team in the final come into it? Wasn't the comparison between winning the FA Cup and England winning the World Cup. I think a lot of people would rather see England win the World Cup than Leicester NOT win the FA Cup. That isn't really that controversial an opinion. Do you two just copy each other? You tell me what's so humorous about: A: Someone having Aids B: Someone dying of Aids It's ok Bert. AIDs is so 80s, you're allowed to joke about it now. Ah dear.Hang on Rodderz/Ross-Kemp, you say you'd want to see England win the World Cup, but you both wanted England to lose the other night against Andorra?! Fantastic. Idiotic, but fantastic.
Tommeh Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 I'll be at work, thank fook. Croatia comfortable 2-0.

wellsy Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Well all I'm gonna say is with the team we have got and how we are playing as of late all we can do is hope for a result! If Rooney knew how to stay upfront I could see him and Heskey combining quite well. Just hope we qualify for the World Cup fingers crossed people!
RowlattsFox Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 People are twisting what Terry said to support their argument that England players don't care where in fact Terry said nothing like that, all he said was that they could cope the big occassion because they've played in big games in the Champions League, and in some circumstances even bigger games.
Tilley Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 What website? Justin.Tv If I can't find one, someone on here will post it up.

The Stig Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 That would be my eleven tonight I think. Would obvioulsy prefer Beckham to Barry but... Cannot see it happening. Beckham would fit the role perfectly, and on reflection I agree with you. He has the experience required, in that slightly more defensive role he would not need lots of pace and he could provide quality supply for Cole and Lampard who would push up. It's a very attacking line up, and theres the risk of the counter attack, but it would get us goals, so personally its a risk I'd be willing to take.
RowlattsFox Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 James; Brown, Ferdinand, Terry, A Cole; Walcott, Barry, Lampard, J Cole; Rooney, Heskey. Thats the team.
Uncle Albert Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 James; Brown, Ferdinand, Terry, A Cole; Walcott, Barry, Lampard, J Cole; Rooney, Heskey. Thats the team. Now thats a team that is capable of going winning. Come on England.
