Anyone else remember the days when Lampard was the hero and Hargreaves was the boo boy?

I remember seeing Hargreaves getting booed ON TO the pitch. England supporters can be right wankers.

Heskey offers something no other striker in the England squad can. He's always there to create things up front, whether it be bustling around defenders or simply holding it up or winning headers. Either way, he'd be a much better partner for Defoe than Rooney. On current form for England, Rooney doesn't warrant a place in the first team and needs a break until he does.

I hope I am proved wrong, but when I saw Heskey play in the czech game he was shocking, I know you can't judge a player on one game but Rooney had pace and looked threatening. Heskey looked slow and clumsy.

John Terry should be banned for playing for England after what he said :@

He myte be a Class A Centre back, but the lad has no passion to play for england. i would rather have someone who had passion and not as good

Rather have Woodgate. Shame Carragher is a quitter. then again I wouldn't put either them in the team because they have both come out and said how much club football means to them over Internationals

They certainly are. I was always a fan of Hargreaves, he was an integral member of that Bayern side playing central midfield and for that, you are a decent player.

For England, he was shifted around all over the shop, playing full back or wide left, he was never ever given an extended run in his favoured position and when he was, it was often for 10 or 15 minutes where I'm not sure how you are supposed to make a positive impact as a defensive midfielder. As soon as he got the run from the start, it started to dawn on people what he was about as a player.

Hargreaves? I think he was judged upfairly because he was always associated with Sven's defensive tactics. He'd stick him on when we had the lead and it's almost as if he became a scapegoat. I'm not saying he played brilliantly all the time, just that he wasn't as bad as the majority of England fans seemed to think. Plus he played all over the shop (including right-back)

Why can't the England team be passionate like most of the other Nations. Me personally, yes I would like us to do well but I think we have an average team which is why I only want them to just give 110%.

Why shouldn't a Champions League game be more important than an England match? It's all personal opinion isn't it? To some people it's club over country (aren't we the same as fans?) and to others it's the opposite.

Yeh i heard a comment someone made on sky sports news this morning, saying we should get a england team of championship players they would play with more passion and give some teams a run for there money. sounds stupid but personally at the moment i think they would be better than what we have got :crylaugh:

Really? I thought he said he'd played in big games in the premiership & bigger games in the champions league. I'm fairly sure he never said 'Champions league games are bigger than england games'.

To be fair, a Champions League final is a fair size more important than a World Cup qualifier. Maybe that's just my opinion though :dunno:
