davieG Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 Friday, 26 September 2008 Matt Owen Routine win for Foxes Leicester v Hartlepool Leicester recovered from their first defeat of the season in superb fashion as they ran out comfortable winners in the capital at Leyton Orient last weekend. Now they will be looking to record back-to-back league victories by beating Hartlepool. The Foxes were held to a goalless draw by Lincoln in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in midweek but went through thanks to a penalty shoot-out win, although this result will give little away as to how they will perform in the league this weekend. Nigel Pearson's side have made a decent start to life in League One and while there is likely to be more to come from Leicester they can be pretty pleased with the way that they have adapted so far. Under Pearson's leadership they have conceded just three goals, which is the best in the league by some distance, and though they haven't hit any real heights going forward just yet, they appear to have something that no other team in this league has – a solid back four. Danny Wilson's side currently occupy a place in the top half but that is down to their fantastic home form where they have picked up seven points out of the ten points that they currently have and generally they don't travel well. He has assembled a decent squad and they will be looking to build upon last season and if they want to do that they will need to improve on the road and this looks a very difficult assignment for Wilson's side. Leicester will be keen to secure victory at home after both Millwall and Lincoln have stopped them from scoring and if there is a weakness in their armour then it is that they haven't scored as many goals as they would have liked. Hartlepool's best chance of taking anything from this match will be to frustrate the Foxes and hope the fans turn against them but we cant see them being able to do that and we expect them home side to record a comfortable victory. Verdict: Leicester 2-0 Hartlepool
Uncle Albert Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 I am feeling confident about tomorrow. Hopefully we can keep the ball on the deck and play our own football not how we were against Millwall. As long as we shoot and try and test the keeper. Leicester 3-1. Howard brace and Oakley.
philce Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 we didn't lose on tuesdaystay at home. Lincon at home??? Shouldn't need penalties.
SamL Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 I'm going for a 2-0 Leicester win. With the Yeovil game being postponed, we need to pick up as many points as possible to avoid being left behind by the leaders. We really shouldn't be losing two home games on the bounce in this league.
NFFC Chris Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 I'm led to believe Hartlepool are pretty shite away from home.Did give Leeds a bit of a run for their money at Elland Road the other night mind, netting 2 goals in the process but your defence is a much more solid unit than that of the leaky Leeds defence. Can see a comfortable 2-0 home win!
DonFox Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 26-0 Fryatt Getting 11 Howard Getting 7 Tunchev...Getting 2 Dyer Getting 6 Easy
Joe. Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 26-0 Fryatt Getting 11 Howard Getting 7 Tunchev...Getting 2 Dyer Getting 6 Easy If we won 26-0 Fryatt would get 27.
Legend_in_blue Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 I'm feeling quite reserved this evening. 4-0 win.
Webbo Posted 27 September 2008 Posted 27 September 2008 I think it all comes down to who scores first. If we do I can see us winning by 3/4 goals. If they score first they'll sit back and I'm a bit worried that we just lack that bit of magic to breakdown a team who defend en-masse.
The People's Hero Posted 27 September 2008 Posted 27 September 2008 We'll put five past this rabble today. If we get the first early, they can't just pack behind the ball and they'll capitulate. Steve Howard to score at least one.
