Floating Fox Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Not a patch on the mighty Quorn who are upto 5th now after beating top-of-the-league Carlton on Saturday. In the play-offs! Although plenty of teams below who can overtake with games in hand. Shepshed going very well too.
Sods Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Brackley made the First round of the Fa Trophy. Away to Basingstoke, another new ground! Shame the league performances have been so poor.

Classic. Loved celebrating in the changing rooms too Was hilarious when the keeper thought they'd scored, twice, and turned round to mock us only for the goal to be chalked off! He got ripped to shit!

purpleronnie Posted 7 December 2008 Author Posted 7 December 2008 I was planning to go to the barwell game, I had work commitments, do you know when the draw is for the next round? Out of interest what was the attendance?
Floating Fox Posted 8 December 2008 Posted 8 December 2008 108 Apparently. I thought near 200. Probably 30-50 Coalville.
filbertway Posted 11 January 2009 Posted 11 January 2009 The big one this Saturday, home to spennymoore in the FA Vase 4th round. Should be a tough game, but I think with the home advantage we could nick a win, hopefully Apparently spennymoore have a decent following and are going tol bring 50-100 fans :\. SHould be a laugh, but getting outsung at a home game, it'll be like the walkers. Hopefully Jonathon Kurrant (Ex charlton and Aberdeen) can give us a bit of class on the right side.

You & Boon wont let it happen.
BoneDog Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Just wondering but are you expecting violence at this match? I have been to a few later stage fa vase matches in the 90's and they always ended up with fans on the pitch havin a go

We'll get pwned in the singing stakes.
Floating Fox Posted 13 January 2009 Posted 13 January 2009 No boon. They have actual real life men Andrew. We'll get pwned in the singing stakes. How do you know? Have you been scouting their fans? If we stay down the shed end all match instead of switching ends we should be alright. I think a 20 minute rendition of ring of fire is in order.
ploddy Posted 13 January 2009 Posted 13 January 2009 No boon. They have actual real life men Andrew. We'll get pwned in the singing stakes. I'll be there so that's one actual real life man. City haven't got a game so all of us Blue Army nutters need to get ourselves over to Coalville and give filbertway a bit of back-up

I know they've got 2 coaches coming at least Basically we'll be owned I'm sure, but it'll be a good laugh I think their fans are spoons-bound when they hit CV as well.

Quality? Pre-Match-Pubbery-Banter. I hope we have a few singers out for this one.
Floating Fox Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 Just read that Gibo is missing for this game? Oh dear. We're gonna get raped
Floating Fox Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Well 1-1, not the rape I predicted! We hit the bar, missed a sitter and they missed a penalty in extra time. Quality turn out from both sides, around 50 away fans I thought. Considering the travelling that mighty impressive. Atmopshere was pretty good, specially 2nd half and extra time.
DB11 Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 How come there was extra time but no winner? Penalties?? Why not just straight to a replay
Floating Fox Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Does it go to a replay then Andy? Yeah next saturday. Tempted to go. How come there was extra time but no winner? Penalties??Why not just straight to a replay I don't know exactly why but I guess it's 'cus Its a bit of an effort for non-league teams to travel the whole of the country but they want to keep the traditions of the cup... I wish it had gone straight to a replay, I ended up being 45 minutes late to work
