filbertway Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 It's a pretty good journey up there. M1 then onto the A1 and it's about 5-10 minutes off the A1. Take about 2 and a half hours to get there. That penalty was brilliant haha, must have gone 10 yards over the bar Really tight game yesterday with them having 2 good cghances and us having a few good chances. They're keeper also made a quality full stretch save from a free kick on the edge on the box. It'll be a real tough test against them at their place butwe'll have a few key players back so I'm looking forward to a good tight game which we can hopefully nick
Floating Fox Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Away at Bideford (devon ) if they get through. Feel sorry for Spennymoor if they get through though, at least 6 hours drive!!
Floating Fox Posted 25 January 2009 Posted 25 January 2009 Went to the replay yesterday. Was probably one of the best footballing occasions I've been to. Deffo the best this season, would probably be up there in the top 5 of all time, depsite the fact we lost. Ended up 0-0 after 90 minutes, extra time, they scored a wonder goal curled right into the top corner by the chav on the right wing, but somehow (Down the other end) we equalised through fans favourite, super-sub (And also the man who got the only goal to send us through last round) Alvin Jarvis. Didn't see what happened and just remember everyone going completly bonkers surrounded by all the home fans. Loved it. So to penalties. 4-4 and onto sudden death. They score theres and our keeper (Son of Colin Gibson) steps up to take it. Could see he was going to miss, had the technique completly wrong, and he did Gutted. Fantastic day out though, Spennymoor fans made us feel really welcome and were very vocal too, didn't even mind a bit of mocking from us (They did an "MKdons"...took over another team). Fair play to them, and best of luck to them. I hope they win it. Really starting to enjoy non-league now, where else would you get fans exchanging shirts/scarfs just an hour or so after having a massive face off/sing song in the clubhouse! I'd say a good 30+ coalville fans (One double decker Ausden Clark bus - Don't know if it was full as we went in the car)made the journey and thats not bad for us. Espcially considering at least half of them were under 20! They had one of the best stands for making noise I've been in since Palace (The proper one). Metal sheets at the back to bang on, shallow terracing and a good roof. Magic. We also have adopted a Gary glitter song now. I'd say we're the only club in the world who sing it  What.A.Day.

Floating Fox Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Won 7-1 in the league last night was a completle piss take. Good fun though, looks like I made the right choice not going to watch city.

Floating Fox Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 How many did Alvin Jarvis get?If he didn't get at least 5 i'll be disappointed. He came on at 6-0 and missed 2 sitters, 1 of which was an open net. We all went mental when Warwick scored, quality

Floating Fox Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 Wow. Good night down Coalville last night. Went behind twice to a team not fighting for promotion (This is after a 6-0 away win at the weekend) and enter Alvin Jarvis. The fans hero set up the equaliser to make it 2-2 and then with 15 minutes to go takes an awesome touch and heads it past their goalkeeper to win the match, 3-2. Que mental celebrations. We love Alv! Even better news was only one of our promotion rivals won! League cup quarter final tomorrow night!
CosbehFox Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 See Barwell's score on Saturday? Deary me Warwick, you are awful.
Sods Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 Brackley's promotion hopes could be over before they started, too much catching up to do I reckon. Two losses in a row after 6 unbeaten. Last night was a typical non league game. Loved it though. One of our strikers is looking like hes of to Dagenham but we have just brought in a youngster on loan from Oxford who is shit hot. Matty Taylor. Oh and Andy, we sing the Glitter song. Plus their was a very poor rumour he was living in Brackley not long ago as he grew up not far from here. So we sing that as well as Glitter is a Brackley Fan.

Still in with a shout though, game in hand n' all. And Glitter songs are good, but can you beat Harold Shipman?
Samilktray Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 Gonna sample the non league game myself in the next week or so. Going to watch Redditch.
Floating Fox Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 We lost our first home game for over 11 months on tuesday night so close to a year unbeaten
purpleronnie Posted 13 March 2009 Author Posted 13 March 2009 Isnt that 2 losses out of the last 3? Doesnt sound bad but the top teams have lost a lot fewer than coalville, I think 3rd is probably the best they can get which would be sickening to miss out by one place. I dont think all the cup games have helped.

I dont think all the cup games have helped. Yeah, playing 4 times a week isn't helping I agree. I'm pretty sure only 1 is going to get promoted, the thing I am hoping for is the Markey Drayton fail their ground grading. We can still catch Barwell (Who I doubt will fail having been to their ground).
purpleronnie Posted 13 March 2009 Author Posted 13 March 2009 If coalville come 3rd and Market Drayton fail the ground grading 3rd place should be promoted. Or at least thats how it should be. Coalville havent had the best of luck with games which have been abandoned, semi final and league games which they were winning. Strange that they beat barwell and Market Drayton easily but struggle against teams way below them. I think they will be kicking themselves come the end of the season.

My mates went to that, it was abandoned because of an un-safe pitch (Wet) but the pitch was fine. Cu nts.

Make sure you get in the mighty shed end. I can't make this one...I'll be watching Bayer Leverkusen Play the mighty Vfl Bochum <_<
filbertway Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Should be a win for Coalville against bardon to be honest and a nice passage to the 2nd qualifying round xD.

When I was told they were playing Bardon I though it was one of the lesser FA trophies, because I said straight away Bardon are to shit to be in the FA cup.
