Watfords lucky escape

He's not a bad manager, but he had a huge lack of knowledge of the English game. I think given a second chance, he may not do a bad job. Every job he's done in Scotland has been good, but of course managing in the Championship is a different world, which he previously couldn't cope with.

Exactly. When you consider someone experienced in the English League (Holloway) came in and managed to get us relegated I don't think Levein's that bad. Looking at what he's done in Scotland he can actually manage.

Levein has done very well since leaving City. He must have had something about him for us to hire him in the first place and he has excelled at Dundee United.

Watford might also be encouraged by what Mowbray did at West Brom after leaving Hibs, as well.

what he tried to acheive was good, cutting the wage bill, playing youth players etc. it just didnt work out for him and buying awfull scottish players like stephen hughes was a crime too far. kisnorbo was a good purchase though...

He spent the best part of his time here playing a defensive formation when we had an attacking set of players, Gareth Williams in the holding role anyone? Deary me, the bloke was atrocious and his signings were beyond a joke bar Kisnorbo.

But compare him to the other managers we've had since Micky Adams...
