JakeShingler Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Oh makes it alright does it. I do guess Histon is a little more embarrassing than getting beaten by a lower league 2 team (Lincoln). Good luck with Palace. I expect nothing less than a win from you. By the Way Palace were easy to beat but then again it was a decent pitch we were playing on not a mud pit.!!
hewittinspain Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 oh thats right you had to take it all the way to penalties. Rotherham beat u after you laughed at them beating us. Cup games have upsets in them all the time. Are Barnsley better than Liverpool? If the FA cup is vital to you then go for it.I think you will go all the way and win it.
hewittinspain Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 When the hell did Lincoln beat us? YAWN. Read above!!

Milky Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Mr. postman look and see (oh yeah) You got a letter in your bag for me

We both know if that had this game have been played on a good pitch then things wouldve been different. If you saw it on TV you would have seen the massive puddles on the pitch and the whole area was pure sludge. Im sure you notice the ball just stop when it was trying to get passed around. Histon know their ground and they are used to playing in such budget park conditions. A pitch like that wouldn't be allowed in the Football league.

hewittinspain Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 good luck with knocking us off the top! Yeah thanks. Gradel that reminds me. What actually happened to Forest's performance in the end in the 2007 season when they had 41 points and clear top after 19 games? They seemed to be going so well didn't they. I thought you may be able to enlighten me seeing as you two clubs are big rivals.!! Any ideas?
lavrentis Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Yeah thanks.Gradel that reminds me. I thought you may be able to enlighten me seeing as you two clubs are big rivals.!! Any ideas? WE ARE NOT FOREST. Oh and by the way, go on the Coventry forum, where you can start early to talk about your next League 1 season with them.

Any ideas? forest didnt have the quality to stay at the top, we do, and we have good back-up players, and you cant compare us to forest, for one thing we wear blue!

Fair enough, but had it been us that lost to them, you'd have been on here giving it all sorts. Take it like a man, you deserve the piss ripped out of you. On the grand scale of things, you are right, neither us nor yourselves are going to win the FA Cup this season and the league is our priority. But even so, if you lose to a team like Histon, you deserve all the mocking that comes your way. Leeds have been an embarrassment for a few seasons now, so have ourselves. You have to take it on the chin. You seem incapable of accepting any embarrassment that is bought upon your club, and let's face it you should be used to it by now.
The People's Hero Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I quite like Hewitt. He knows deep down that losing to Histon is a big embarrassment. I've got a sort of respect for him for still being here, proud of his club. At the end of the day, he didn't go out there and lose to Histon... but he has to take the flak for it.

And there's me thinking they actually had some good players in the 07 season. Check their team for the 07 season and come back to me. They had the strongest squad in league one at that time.!!

The boy is about 7, one of those kids who likes to dish out the piss take about other clubs but absolutely refuses to accept any about his club and tries to turn it around. I welcome him here with open arms.

Losing to Histon would have been a bigger disappointment if we could have actually had a top Prem team in the next round. As it happens the winner got Swansea. I have full respect for Histon and I hope they get quite far in this cup. That's what the FA cup is all about and always has been. Good luck to them in the rest of the competition.I for one will be rooting for them.
