philce Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 BUT deep down they REALLY want to join in and do it!!!! Dont remember seeing you dancing on Tues???? Or do you save it for when you get home? The sooner its dropped the better...
Bert Posted 27 November 2008 Author Posted 27 November 2008 Also, I plan to dance to it ironically. That'll really stick it to the club.
Vestan Pance Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 The point is as far as I can see it's a minority that don't want it. Therein lies the problem. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=52649 Minority?
James. Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=52649Minority? 354 people voted. Average attendance this season = 19,080.
James. Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 Oh, and we've NEVER had 20K dancing to CD. Ever. We barely get 20,000 through the gates at the moment. Yes Sherlock I know. It was a convenient exaggeration to emphasise my point.
Vestan Pance Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 354 people voted.Average attendance this season = 19,080. Which works out at 14661 that don't want it.
Guest Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 Which works out at 14661 that don't want it. The club have been shown the thread, but whilst the majority of the crowd are happy to dance along to it, then they will continue to play it. Believe me, I have put my views on this to the club, but when you are in a meeting where only two people don't want it and the rest think it's great, especially as the kiddies love it, you are on a hiding to nothing.
Guest Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 Just a reminder, from the last FCC minutes Goal Music.PJ said that he had received a number of emails regarding the goal music and the fact that some fans didn't want music or thought something different to 'Chelsea Dagger' should be played. Lisa Hunt produced the results of survey she had personally carried out on Foxes Talk with results taken from 267 fans. -67.42% did not want any music. -78.65% did not want Chelsea Dagger if music was to continue. AO spoke about how he thought music fits in strategically with the overall match day experience. A general discussion took place with a number of different opinions expressed as to the merits of playing music or not. The fans appear to be enjoying the goal celebration and it was agreed not to change the present arrangements. Source

I appreciate that, nice to know that someone is putting the effort into letting the club know these things. I certainly wouldn't want the job. I'm still not convinced that the majority are dancing along, you only have to look around during a goal to realise that it's starting to wear very thin. Too much focus seems to go into finding new supporters rather than serving the ones they have in my opinion. Why not blast it just at the family stand if they like it so much.
James. Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 Which works out at 14661 that don't want it. No it doesn't, that's my point. A sample of people on an internet forum can't be (as proved by the meeting Lisa went to) used to reflect the opinion of everyone who goes on match day. In any case the minutes Lisa has posted pretty much prove my point. (to reiterate I don't want the music either but there's just not enough people who feel passionate about it to make a difference)
Webbo Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 STOP talking about the naffing goals music! The vast majority hate it, however they dance like mugs to it because a LCFC goal has just gone in, what does anyone expect people are going to do?"We" have stopped celebrating the home goals up the top of L1 as "we" hate the music, but i still see the majority of L1 dancing to it because they are happy at the time. Unless a "serious protest" is organised then we should shut up about this as it's boring now. Speaking for myself, I am so very disillusioned I said to Tommeh vs Crewe, "I wonder if my St is worth anything". "We" feel so let down with modern football and the lack of entertainment that it offers that we will be leaving next year if the enjoyment is not there, promotion or not, cups or whatever success or not, because when all is said and done if you don't enjoy something your not going to pay your money and give your time are you?! The thing is in this league most teams will come here and sit 10 men behind the ball and play for a draw, it's bound to be boring. If/when we get promotion a lot of teams will come here to attack and if we're good enough to attack back it should be more entertaining.

We have the identikit stadium, the universal football chants and the generic 'Chelsea Dagger' there really isn't much of substance left to our club. It's a bit of a stage set really, push it over and there's a man caught in only his pants getting ready for the next scene.
