Katy Posted 28 November 2008 Posted 28 November 2008 My cousin might be coming back from Australia for a couple of weeks, in which case I'll be in Cornwall. Otherwise it's the motherland for me (and Leeds on Boxing Day ) Nice one I'm doing Lincolnshire (AM) and Motherland (PM) on Christmas Day and Motherland (AM) and Leeds (PM) on Boxing Day

Katy Posted 28 November 2008 Posted 28 November 2008 Ah, my motherland is different to your motherland! It is, although Lincolnshire is a very lovely substitute for the motherland of Leicester - I don't care what anyone says.
Master Fox Posted 28 November 2008 Posted 28 November 2008 I'm in Cyprus. First time out of England or Christmas. I had Christmas in Cyprus in 1996. It was great I'll be in Wisconsin, Chicago, and new years in DC this year.
Bazaldo Posted 28 November 2008 Posted 28 November 2008 Sorry to bring a downer on this but xmas has no bearing for me this year really. Just gonna get through it, Leeds on BD im looking forward to more. Hope we beat them too!! Lost my 61 yr old mum in March and she ran xmas got the family together and worked her socks off. I now have her seat and have carried on her ST down the city with my old man. Xmas day will be for my boy and a few solemn moments by her grave. Like i say sorry to bring a downer. carry on

Like i say sorry to bring a downer. carry on I hope this doesn't offend, but if your mum loved Xmas as much as it seems, then you should have the best bloody Xmas ever, in her memory. It's what we did after we lost my nana's (both died within a month of Xmas, different years). This will probably sound soft, but I also wrote them Xmas cards.
Darkzzz_ Posted 28 November 2008 Posted 28 November 2008 All my Xmas shopping is officially done. All done via the internet, no cues, no getting hot and bothered in store. Relieved to have got it out the way early as I usually have to make a last minute dash every year. I can relax now and enjoy what cash I have left.

Nah not at all and your right it should but dont know till we get there if that makes any sense. just the feeling now is of fear and dread. Xmas day might be totally different. Who knows. And i think its good to think of them as still around you, talk as if they are still with us. Gone but not forgotten. Xmas card is a great idea. Crikey have i turned this into a morbid thread......sorry all

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 28 November 2008 Author Posted 28 November 2008 See, boxing day I'm in yorkshire meeting some of the in-laws for the first time, is it rude for me to nip over to Elland Road or is it acceptable football fan behaviour??

Just say you're nipping shop, and you conveniently got lost, and ended up at Elland Road. Or, say someone got you a ticket as a christmas present.
