ousefox Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 gilbert bruno and weso were in a box today but from what i can gather hes fit and ready to play Yeah i saw them two with hendo & Kisnorbo
lildave3 Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Good news. Although Edworthy has done little wrong, I'd rather have Gilbert's pace. Seconded. This can only be good news.
Alf Bentley Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Good to see the lad back in action today. Thought his presence (and Powell's) really helped the midfield today. Added width and stretched Southend, helping us to keep possession much better. I can see this system working well in a lot of games (3 fairly central midfielders, with only Dyer wide, but Gilbert overlapping). I wonder what the future holds for Gilbert? Can't imagine he's going to break into the Arsenal first team, so he might be looking for a permanent move in the summer...say to a newly-promoted Championship side with prospects, if such a side exists (certainly no counting of chickens yet, but today was promising...couldn't we just cancel the January transfer window? )
Corky Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Didn't do a lot wrong, got forward well and nearly set up a goal in the second half.
Anish Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Good display from Gilbert today. I like the way he bombs forward and overlaps and his pace in defence is always an asset. He had a great run in the second half and almost set up Fryatt. Glad he's back in the team, even though he doesn't have much support from the right midfield with Oakley always drifting into the middle.
C-man Posted 7 December 2008 Posted 7 December 2008 I thought Gilbert was one of our best players today. He really adds something to our current formation. If he can stay fit, then he'll be a real asset to our system
lildave3 Posted 7 December 2008 Posted 7 December 2008 Definitely adds something else to the team when he plays.
