Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but where is he? I thought he was only going to be out of contention for a couple of weeks, seems months since I saw him play last.

Think to an extent we miss his pace at right back, thought he was key to Gradels impressive start to the season

From what I understand, Gilbert is available for selection but not in Pearson's mind currently.

With his loan deal about to expire, may be we are building a team without him :dunno:

He's on a season long loan mate

What's Marc Edworthy done wrong for Gilbert to warrant his place back?

Not much but then Gilbert offers more than Edworthy. When Gilbert is back to fitness I would have him straight back in the starting line up, without a doubt.

Same, offers a lot more going forward I think. Edworthy doesn't seem that fit to me to be honest, probably expected.

Pearson doesn't like changing a team, which generally is the right thing but when you are playing with a narrow right hand side of midfield you need your best attacking right back playing, which is Gilbert, however Edworthy has done well so losing his place would be harsh

When you can name 7 subs and Gilbert isn't 1 of them he's either displeased Pearson or he's still injured.

He seems to have gone the way of Levi Porter and Paul Dickov.

Perhaps something to do with his pending court appearance for being D & D :dunno:

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that. It never seems much of an offence to me considering the shits that are allowed on a football field but if the manager wants to make a point .......

What?! He has had one good game at the cottage, that was it.

Edworthy has generally been solid, but looked exposed for pace today - though D&R were particularly strong down the left. That could cost league points in future. Gilbert also looks better going forward - and would offer much-needed width down the right.

One thought: I just wonder whether Pearson wants to see plenty of Edworthy at the moment as he's only on a v. shortcontract (1-2 months), so as to decide whether to sign him up for the rest of the season?

he was on the bench today

Yes but with the greatest respect in the world look at the opposition.

Yes but there were nearly as many on the bench as in the stands.

Gilbert looks to be out of the picture at the moment but we could have used his pace today. He's better than Edworthy.

Gilbert played for the reserves yesterday. Looks like he could be a contender for Saturday.

Good news. Although Edworthy has done little wrong, I'd rather have Gilbert's pace.
