Tammy Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but where is he? I thought he was only going to be out of contention for a couple of weeks, seems months since I saw him play last. Think to an extent we miss his pace at right back, thought he was key to Gradels impressive start to the season
Bert Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 What's Marc Edworthy done wrong for Gilbert to warrant his place back?
Munzie Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 From what I understand, Gilbert is available for selection but not in Pearson's mind currently. With his loan deal about to expire, may be we are building a team without him
mmarkie Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 From what I understand, Gilbert is available for selection but not in Pearson's mind currently. With his loan deal about to expire, may be we are building a team without him He's on a season long loan mate
James. Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 What's Marc Edworthy done wrong for Gilbert to warrant his place back? Not much but then Gilbert offers more than Edworthy. When Gilbert is back to fitness I would have him straight back in the starting line up, without a doubt.
Simi Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Not much but then Gilbert offers more than Edworthy. When Gilbert is back to fitness I would have him straight back in the starting line up, without a doubt. Same, offers a lot more going forward I think. Edworthy doesn't seem that fit to me to be honest, probably expected.
Jimmy Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Pearson doesn't like changing a team, which generally is the right thing but when you are playing with a narrow right hand side of midfield you need your best attacking right back playing, which is Gilbert, however Edworthy has done well so losing his place would be harsh
Webbo Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 When you can name 7 subs and Gilbert isn't 1 of them he's either displeased Pearson or he's still injured.
Thracian Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 When you can name 7 subs and Gilbert isn't 1 of them he's either displeased Pearson or he's still injured. He seems to have gone the way of Levi Porter and Paul Dickov.
Jimmy Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 He seems to have gone the way of Levi Porter and Paul Dickov. he was on the bench today
Thracian Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 he was on the bench today If the bench was as cold as my seat that was a punishment not a compliment!
20mj08 Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 gilbert bruno and weso were in a box today but from what i can gather hes fit and ready to play
davieG Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Perhaps something to do with his pending court appearance for being D & D
Thracian Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Perhaps something to do with his pending court appearance for being D & D Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that. It never seems much of an offence to me considering the shits that are allowed on a football field but if the manager wants to make a point .......
Maybes Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but where is he? I thought he was only going to be out of contention for a couple of weeks, seems months since I saw him play last.Think to an extent we miss his pace at right back, thought he was key to Gradels impressive start to the season What?! He has had one good game at the cottage, that was it.
Joe. Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 I hope he's back soon, Edworthy lacks something going forward (understandably) compared to Gilbert.
Alf Bentley Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Edworthy has generally been solid, but looked exposed for pace today - though D&R were particularly strong down the left. That could cost league points in future. Gilbert also looks better going forward - and would offer much-needed width down the right. One thought: I just wonder whether Pearson wants to see plenty of Edworthy at the moment as he's only on a v. shortcontract (1-2 months), so as to decide whether to sign him up for the rest of the season?
The Stig Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 he was on the bench today Yes but with the greatest respect in the world look at the opposition.
reynard Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 he was on the bench today Yes but there were nearly as many on the bench as in the stands. Gilbert looks to be out of the picture at the moment but we could have used his pace today. He's better than Edworthy.
Dan Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 What's Marc Edworthy done wrong for Gilbert to warrant his place back? not played as well as gilbert
carterfox90 Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 gilbert for me but edworhty has done better than i thought he would
Ultra Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Gilbert played for the reserves yesterday. Looks like he could be a contender for Saturday.
Bert Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 What?! He has had one good game at the cottage, that was it. Two. Mkdonalds at home.
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 ....... oooo nearly xmas must meen leeds scum away soon!
Corky Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Gilbert played for the reserves yesterday. Looks like he could be a contender for Saturday. Good news. Although Edworthy has done little wrong, I'd rather have Gilbert's pace.
