dog_4 Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 how many city fans went that day to wembley? did we outnumber spurs fans? just want to see how big we are compared to supposed bigger clubs
C-man Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 how many city fans went that day to wembley? did we outnumber spurs fans? just want to see how big we are compared to supposed bigger clubs I can't remember exactly how many we took, I just know that they definitely outnumbered us. Probably around 30000?
jonno24 Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Well considering it was in london i would expect the totenham to have took more there than us but we did take about 30'000 possibly more. I also remember abit of trouble inside the ground after some goon had sold tickets to totenham fans for the leicester area was always gonna end badly after that.

Well it was Tottenham's first final in years and they bought loads off so called city fans so they well outnumbered the city fans at Wembley that day. Hence the aggro!
dog_4 Posted 11 December 2008 Author Posted 11 December 2008 around 77,000 was there that day, just wondered really. we seemed to get backed by thousands for the big games. we must be in the top 10 for fan base in england.

I doubt it. There are probably 10 teams in the west midlands and London with a bigger fanbase then ours.

Many clubs can bring the numbers for a Wembley final. We could muster up to 100,000 (estimate) fans world wide? But only 16,000 (mugs) Die hard's obviously at the moment.

The People's Hero Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I bet we're not far off the top 10.
Rich Fox Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I doubt it.There are probably 10 teams in the west midlands and London with a bigger fanbase then ours. What crap why dont you try naming these 10 teams with bigger fanbases than ourselves. If your talking west midlands then Villa and Wolves are bigger. Birmingham city get less than us now and there at the top 2 in the championship and they think there bigger than the villa! I would say Derby have a bigger fan base but were bigger than forest or the same. In London youve got Spurs Chelsea Arsenal and maybe west ham but nobody else in the capital So that adds up to 7 clubs with bigger fanbases than us in London and both west and east midlands. Not bad.

Doubt if Derby have a fan base as big as ours. I quite often see Leicester fans down here, but VERY VERY rarely see any Derby. The occasional Forest though. If anything, out of those you mentioned, there's a surprising amount of Wolves fans - they seem to be everywhere. So so smug.
escape2victory Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 bit hard pushed for top 10. i would argue that newcastle, sunderland, leeds, man utd, man city, liverpool, everton, sheff weds, villa, wolves, forest, arsenal, chelsea, spurs and west ham all have bigger fan bases than ours
CosbehFox Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Doubt if Derby have a fan base as big as ours. You'll be surprised. Not noticed their excellent figures this season? Personally we'd be about 20th. Look at clubs like Leeds who have 'supporters club' in various parts of the country. Always sell out away because of it.
Kilworthfox Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 bit hard pushed for top 10. i would argue that newcastle, sunderland, leeds, man utd, man city, liverpool, everton, sheff weds, villa, wolves, forest, arsenal, chelsea, spurs and west ham all have bigger fan bases than ours As fan bases go, my best guess for England teams would be: 1.Manchester United 2. Liverpool 3. Arsenal 4. Leeds United 5. Tottenham 6. Chelsea 7. Everton 8. Aston Villa 9. Newcastle United 10. Manchester City 11. Sheffield Wednesday 12. West Ham United 13. Derby County 14. Nottingham Forest 15. Sunderland 16. Leicester City 17. Wolverhampton Wanderers 18. West Bromwich Albion 19. Southampton 20. Portsmouth 21. Birmingham City 22. Middlesborough 23. Reading 24. Ipswich Town 25. Norwich City 26. Sheffield United 27. Bristol City 28. Crystal Palace 29. Charlton Athletic 30. Coventry City

CosbehFox Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 25. Norwich City Wtf? You seen their figures?
Maybes Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Wtf? You seen their figures? They get a very good average attendance I'll have you know.
Kilworthfox Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Wtf? You seen their figures? I am not saying that it is a fact, but how I see them, to be honest if someone said to you that Norwich City are the 22nd - 28th best supported club in England there is not a lot controversial about that is there? I suppose unless you are a Norwich fan, fans in general always like to think that their club is bigger than they actually are. I think I have been generous with Leicester!
