Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 Not sure you'd be saying the same if it was Leicester we were talking about!!!They've given him enough time to prove himself and given themselves enough time to get out of trouble. Seems like a good approach to me. Perhaps my view is tinted being on the outside looking in and having no kind of feelings for the club, but I think I would have the same viewpoint if it was happening at City. If last season proved anything, it's that sacking managers doesn't guarantee success. The board should've stuck by their chosen man.

Maybe but on current form they'd have been relegated by Feb, at least they've given themselves a chance of staying up now. Trouble is getting the right man! As long as they stay away from Pearson I'll be happy. Am I right in saying that he's still very popular at Blackburn

My money is on Allardyce.

Am I right in saying that he's still very popular at Blackburn But teams like Bolton for example, who struggled to begin with, notched up a few wins here and there, and are now in a comfortable position. Blackburn's best XI could battle their way to a 15th, 14th place finish, unfortuantely they've had a bad bit of form recently so their confidence must be shot, but there is enough talent there to get themselves out of trouble. As I've pointed out, the table is tight, and Ince seems like a character who would have the respect and co-operation of his players. The season is not four months long.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 I wonder what sort of club would come after him now? Derby County.
Matt Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 ARE YOU LEICESTER? ARE YOU LEICESTER? ARE YOU LEICESTER IN DISGUISE? Just heard on Sky Sports News, Blackburn have had 3 managers in 6 months. (Mark Hughes/Paul Ince and they are obviously including the current Caretaker Manager/New Manager)
Daggers Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 ARE YOU LEICESTER? ARE YOU LEICESTER? ARE YOU LEICESTER IN DISGUISE? Yes - because now they are being linked with Souness. I'm betting Monkey Head will be in the running shortly.
Jay Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 Yes - because now they are being linked with Souness. I'm betting Monkey Head will be in the running shortly. Monkey Head is ALWAYS linked to any job up and down the country he must have a bloody good agent as proven by the fact he is currently sat on a beach in Thailand with his feet up pretending to be an International manager. I hate Blackburn always have since Wembley they have been punching above their wait for far to long I mean in League 1 both us and Leeds both probably get bigger crowds than they do when they are riding high in the premiership. The board are the biggest losers here you don't give a job to a young manager without knowing that you are going to have a few ups and downs you have to give the man a chance I imagine it's the balance sheet making the decision and nothing to do with Ince or football the thought of relegation and the difference in income is just far to big now.

I reckon Souness will be a carousel in his next life. He just goes round and round and up and down.
Tilley Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 If I was a betting man, I would put a small fortune on Ince's next job being at Elland Road.
