Matt Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 Blackburn Rovers are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Allardyce as manager with immediate effect.Sam has signed a three-year-contract. Suffolk_fox Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/New...1491423,00.html Fook me! I got something right! Had to happen sooner or later, just by the law of averages alone!!
Jon the Hat Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 Good move Blackburn. Well done Big Sam. No doubt he will prove his credentials once again.
Maybes Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 Perfect job for him to take over, just like it was a bad time for Ince to move in. Blackburn really cant get much worse than they currently are and prior to Ince, Hughesy had took them as far as they could go.
Kilworthfox Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 Great appointment, I like Blackburn. IMO that's just wrong Shaun! Playoffs 92?
ousefox Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 Great manager and i hope he can keep them up.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 December 2008 Posted 17 December 2008 He should do well there, for some reason I just reckon he'll be able to put his own ideas across much better than he did at Newcastle. Maybe it's the Lancashire link, or more likely I'm talking crap.
AyewJoking Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Looks like Rovers fans can look forward to exciting times. Seriously, it must be mind numbing to be a Blackburn fan. Year after year of mediocrity. They were slowly going places under Hughes until he left them for the more "glamorous" Man City. Some of them were probably relishing a relegation battle but I'm sure steady old Sam will take them back to the dizzy heights of mid table football.

lildave3 Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 I didn't find it boring to be a supporter of a midtable Premier League club. Yeah but we were winning trophies too
Joe. Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Got some work to do that's for sure. With Santa Cruz clearly going to Manchester City he'll be losing his most important player, and ultimatwly Blackburn's biggest source of goals. How much of the money he'll actually be allowed to spend back on players is another question entirely. They should stay up though. The squad's got some good players in it, they just need a change of mentality, and Allardyce should provide this. There are worse teams out there in the Premiership than Blackburn Rovers.
Fosse Boy Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 And there's me thinking he was gonna take the Sunderland job...
DB11 Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 I think he'd be better off at Sunderland where he would have money and could take them to potentially Europe or something
Jon the Hat Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 I think he'd be better off at Sunderland where he would have money and could take them to potentially Europe or something Sunderland had plenty of time to offer him the job but instead got distracted by a list of foreign managers who will ultimately failt to deliver.
