Legendary, we do need strikers ...

Well both put your names down, it can't hurt. Ultimately it should really be non exclusive but its kinda down to Bert and the rest of the U21s.

It's not just down to me.

All I do is devise the final team. When we were at Cheds last week the majority of us (there was 7 or 8 of us there) decided on what the basis of the team would be and how many we'd have in our squad.

I would encourage anyone to come along, really. Especially if they've been rucking on here. I really, really hope fox123 (for example) comes along and realizes that we're just a bunch of fairly normal people - and visa versa.

For that reason I'd be really involving as far as DB11 and Shingler are concerned.

HOWEVER I think there's a massive difference in maturity between the likes of Ultra, Thracian, TPH, fox123, Daggers etc and younger chaps on the forum. And that's not just the two young outcasts in question, but the Cheds, Joes, JMEs, Alberts and co of this world - too. And if you can't come and turn up without the chip-on-shoulder, without being willing to take the piss out of yourself a bit and acknowledge you've been a goober - then I wouldn't show up.

If someone were to say to fox123 that they'd rather he didn't go (and I really hope this wouldn't be the case) I trust he'd be mature enough to at very least understand why. I think the mere fact, Jake, you don't quite "get" why people would be less keen to see you there and - more than that - play alongside you, sort of illustrates my point entirely.

So look inside yourself. You want to turn up? Turn up. Just don't expect everyone to be involving if you're going to turn up in denial.

No.

We decided what we thought might be best for the team.

The would-be ref.

oh fair enough

i agree with you though,

if people cant come without causing trouble then dont come

The thing is when have any of the Under 21's (the less mature group) ever turned up to an FT match and caused trouble? Or started acting like a dick?

It's not necessarily about causing trouble, it's about being humble.

I'm well aware I get in people's faces on Foxes Talk - but I'm also well aware of my flaws, I know I'm not All That and I know I'm a mouthy, ignorant tit. I turn up with that humility and I get on with people.

What we don't need are egos from "outsiders" who end up leaving unsure why they weren't embraced.

It's never, EVER an easy thing penetrating a clique that already exists. Smutts in the first game he played with us was the classic example, shy, quiet, after all the hype he turned up and went off like a bit of a whimper. Come the St. Mags affair and he was the life of the party - it takes a bit of bottle and a bit of character, which is why I can see the Shinglers of this world struggling.

Yea exactly the same from me I turned up at St. Mags for my first game and i'm pretty confident people would of thought I was a dick because of how I am on FT. But I got on with it and got involved with most of the people.

This match has had a right dampner put on it just because we agreed on only having 15 players in our squad for the game and people who arent even in our age bracket are moaning.
