Still harsh. He was by all accounts the greatest English football manager of all time.

Got the 'Provided You Don't Kiss Me: Twenty years with Brian Clough' book for Christmas. It's proving a cracking read.

Not sure about howard leaving, but oakley was almost in tears at a press conference the day davies was sacked to pick up an award for him. wouldn't be suprised to see oakley leave. Hope not though, want to keep this side together and progress as a unit.

Agreed. To take a comparatively small club like Forest to European glory is one hell of an achievement. Just wish he'd have done it with another club.

Oakley and Davies are very close, it's well known in Derby that Oakley was close to tears when Davies left. Wouldn't be surprised.

Where you get that info from Ched?!

Forest are welcome to him. He may get them out of the shit they're in at the moment but in the end he'll fook them over. Always looking after No.1 is Billy.

Indeed.

One wonders just how much Clough could have won if he'd been manager at a proper football club..

Yes, once again it's a magpie who redeems the image of that city. :)

He would've probably failed due to insurmountable differences with the club management. That's my theory, though.
