dandannieldanok Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...uth/7810341.stm What possesses people to do this kind of thing, mindless scum. People should realise that football is just a game.
Benji Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 Pompey fans are starting to make this a regular occurence with Redknapp receiving the same both times he's left.
Corky Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...uth/7810341.stmWhat possesses people to do this kind of thing, mindless scum. People should realise that football is just a game. And I bet these were the same people who were appalled at the chanting aimed at Sol Campbell by the Spurs fans. Disgusting.

People should realise that football is just a game. If I were him I'd have informed the police rather than the BBC...that way it wouldn't look so much like his agent engineering reasons why he should be allowed to go from the club. Made up story? Heaven forbid.
hebangsthedrums Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 Defoe is the epitomy of the modern footballer and although hes a great player I realy dislike him. I'm a massive cynic so if I were pompey chairman I'd be asking for some evidence, like Daggers says agents can be a bit 'creative' when they smell a move (as soon as their player has been with a club more then 3 months)
Father Ted Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 Are Portsmouth fans really that stupid? For all they know, the media speculation could be a load of rubbish...

Brainy Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 And I bet these were the same people who were appalled at the chanting aimed at Sol Campbell by the Spurs fans. The people sending threats to Defoe deep down probably don't give a toss about the Sol Campbell abuse.
Tevez Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...uth/7810341.stmWhat possesses people to do this kind of thing, mindless scum. People should realise that football is just a game. Hardest thing to realise is that Football is just a game. It's a religon to some.
Daggers Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Hardest thing to realise is that Football is just a game. It's a religon to some. I had a religon once but I didn't look after it properly so my wife made me sell it on Ebay.
Ultra Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 that's kinda what i thought myself. true or not i bet JD is probably quite happy with it; it's another reason to bugger off to Spurs which is blatantly what he wants Pompey aren't trying to hard to keep him. In fact, in the state they're in, they'll be glad to offload him.
Rodderz Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 Threats are out of order the lad has a right to play football where he wants.
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 I like Defoe, don't know how he didn't get a look at Spurs just before he left. Spurs annoy me a little though but that's another story. Regarding the threats, do you think they will really kidnap his mother and demand a ransom?
GLC Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 Sounds like they've worked now as he's off to Spurs 15 mil, double what pompey paid,
