Ric Flair

A Creative Midfielder

What has just dawned on me though is we have signed probably the most creative player in League Two last season in terms of goals and assists in Nicky Adams. Still yet to see him in his supposed best role, central midfield.

Nicky Adams... The new Levi Porter.... Levi Porter... the new Alan Sheehan.... Alan Sheehan... the new Louis Dodds.... Louis Dodds... the new Tommy Wright... Tommy Wright... the new Tommi Petrescu... Tommi Petrescu... the new Sam McMahon.

Personally, Gareth Williams was technically brilliant.

He was the best passer of the ball outside of the Premier Division.

His control was superb.

His finishing was pretty good.

The only thing was, his defending part of his attributes.

I see Andy King, like the player Gareth Williams once was, good passer, good finisher, but can't really tackle.

Then again, there is only a few players that can pass a ball, finish and defend.

The likes of Stevie G and Micheal Carrick.

I used to love seeing Williams spray the ball accros the pitch during training and the other player not needing to move because the ball was that good, and when the player returned the ball, 9 times out of 10, it would be 10 miles away from Williams' foot.

Gareth Williams hardly ever scored for us.

And I was still waiting to see those wnderful Hoddle-like passes when he left.

The bloke was an injury-prone ballet-dancer and nothing like Andy King at all.

They are both Welsh (seriously, with a name like Gareth Williams, how is he Scottish?:P )

The Flair is spot on!

He may be but I'm not particularly hopeful based on his efforts as a winger so far. Like others though, he's not played much so perhaps the maestro in him has still to be revealed. I don't give a shit so long as the position gets sorted pdq.

I've let him off... purely because we were in the prem at the time and he did play a few games.

He's a pr*** of grade A proportions though having been out and about in town when he has.

I've not said he is the answer at central midfield, but that's where he played for Bury last season and he scored 14 goals and had 15 assists so i'm querying why he hasn't been given a chance there. It's mental given those stats, admittedly at a league lower though, but in a very crap Bury team.

I want Davies, all night long.

Ive been saying it for ages we have needed a creative midfielder since Izzet left us. We have finally found someone that has pace, strength can put a tackle in and im certain he can get goals for us as well.

He hasn't been playing at all due to injury? until coming to us and to come into a side and start performing to so positive is a thrill to watch. I can see glimpses of Izzet (hero), the one twos are something ive noticed which shows us that hes always looking for the ball.

If we decided to try and buy him I think it would be a great move, I just really want us to get him longer as he could be so vital for us. I remember Micky Adams saying that without Izzet we was an average side, with him we was a good side. I can see a similar difference with this lad.
