Captain_Fishpaste Posted 22 April 2005 Posted 22 April 2005 Just registered to have a bit craic before the game. Our lot are really quite nervy about the game considering what is at stake and don't think for one minute we are under-estimating your boys. We are expecting a really tough game and will be delighted with any kind of victory. Hope the fans who are making the trip up have a nice day (apart from the result) and lets hope the atmosphere is a good one. According the the official club website we have sold 30,000 tickets although we expect closer to 40,000 with "pay on the day" sales.

Honestly you can have him....He's our best striker, and well really if he's our best striker that shows how bad we are up front Bet you glad we beat you to him now don't you?!?!?!
Captain_Fishpaste Posted 22 April 2005 Author Posted 22 April 2005 well as it turned out not getting Connolly enabled us to bring in Stephen Elliott from man City and he has been awesome for a young lad in his first season. A lot of our fans see a lot of a young Kevin Phillips in him.

Captain_Fishpaste Posted 22 April 2005 Author Posted 22 April 2005 are you likely to come and give it a good go to win the match or are you more likely to come looking for a point?
MON Posted 22 April 2005 Posted 22 April 2005 are you likely to come and give it a good go to win the match or are you more likely to come looking for a point? 97257 point
Mark Posted 22 April 2005 Posted 22 April 2005 so which players should I watch out for and be wary of tomorrow? 97251 Stephen Hughes (hopefully playing in middle but i doubt it) He's the only player with real creativity or skill in the team, unless Richard Stearman is playing, our 17 year old defender who looks a class above the rest of the team whenever he's playing
Captain_Fishpaste Posted 22 April 2005 Author Posted 22 April 2005 are you likely to come and give it a good go to win the match or are you more likely to come looking for a point? 97257 point 97261 won't be much different from other teams who have come to the SoL this season then. Means we have to rely on the likes of Arca and Larwence to open you up. I can really see a frustrating afternoon for us tomorrow
MON Posted 22 April 2005 Posted 22 April 2005 Is Matt Piper expected to play. He's almost back to full fitness now isn't he. Can we have him back..... are you likely to come and give it a good go to win the match or are you more likely to come looking for a point? 97257 point 97261 won't be much different from other teams who have come to the SoL this season then. Captain_Fishpaste Posted 22 April 2005 Author Posted 22 April 2005 aye it's a shame that Dabizas isn't playing... we were looking forward to some "Magpie reject" barracking of him
TAFKA Castroneves Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 I'd keep an eye out for Stearman and Hughes like has been already said, apart from that I imagine you'll be seeing the most of Walker today...
Les Doh Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 aye it's a shame that Dabizas isn't playing... we were looking forward to some "Magpie reject" barracking of him 97271 Probably why he got sent off
Captain_Fishpaste Posted 23 April 2005 Author Posted 23 April 2005 just popped in to say your team and fans did your credit today. If De Vries had not gone off injured you would have scored more than one... he was a menace. Your goal was superb... superb run, superb pass, superb finish. Cracking goal all round. We were worried since we had an 18 year old keeper in for his debut but he played well and made one amazing save from De Vries. Credit to you for coming and having a real go at us. So many teams come looking for a pint but your lads played really really well and one of the best teams I have seen here this season

Also, congratulations are in order! Hope you lot have a good run in the Premiership. Now get back down the pub...

Anish Posted 23 April 2005 Posted 23 April 2005 It was a great atmosphere at the SoL today - the Sunderland fans were a credit to their club. They definitely put our home fans to shame. It was also really pleasing for them, on the journey home as our coach (and the other LCFC coaches) passed the Sunderland fans we were all clapping them and they did the same to us. I think they appreciated our gesture and they deserve to go up.
