Easy win for us. Well worth braving the cold for. Far too good for this division.

Enjoyed Cleverleys goal, nice football.

Other highlights:

- Clayton Ince songs (Top bloke for clapping us and shaking his ass too)

-Howard almost killing a poor woman in the stand with his shot before the game (right in the mush)

-Briefly met Craig, Fez, Lisa and LD3, I was looking out for Danny Baker also. Must have missed him. :)

It was lovely to meet you. I was very jealous of your hat, it had better ear coverage!!

Just got back home, decent performance, although seemed to sit back a bit towards the end. It was the single most quiet home support i have ever heard/seen. We must've outnumbered them? The songs towards their goalkeeper Ince put a smile on my face. Did anyone else see his little dance? Cleverley MOTM, although Howard wasnt far behind. Well done the boys, although still bloody freezing!

If your talking about his wiggle, yes i saw it, was very amusing. Seeing as it was really cold, it was a great night. Alot of the songs were funny, especially the songs at Bradley. We were comfortable from beginning to end, started off really sharp and closed them down and didnt allow them to play (apart from maybe 5 mins after they scored), i havent seen us that comfortable in a long time, and was great to see. I noticed the players didnt come over too close at the end, as snowballs were being thrown.

Cleverly definately the MOTM, reminded me alittle of Davies, very confident, runs with the ball, opens play up, lets hope it continues. All the players played well tho. And nice to see Dickov come across before the game when a fan was hit in the face with one of Howards shots, to make sure the fan was ok.

I cant believe how quiet the roads were, we left early thinking the roads would be chaotic but it was the opposite

Howard and Cleverley were both awesome tonight. Howard just edging Cleverley I think.

A good performance, with some good banter and, loving the snowballs at the end.

Just got back, thoroughly enjoyed it tonight.

It could have been more than 4 really, and it looked that way for a while. Anyway, how can you argue with that performance? Totally dominant in all areas.

Cleverley and Howard both had stormers, but I think Cleverley edged it in my opinion. He was full of creativity and hard work all night long, giving a performance worthy of his goal to cap it all off.

Good bit of banter with Clayton Ince too, and he took it well.

All in all, very, very happy tonight.

I was just feeling ill with the remains of flu but now I'm absolutely sick with jealousy.

Sorry to say but I walked out after the fourth goal. We never were in it. It was men against boys. I think our tactics weren\\\'t brilliant either but their movement off the ball was fantastic. They pulled us one way then the other. Their passing was slick, they were mentally and physically quicker than us. It is easy to say we played badly and yes we did but it was Leicester who forced us into so many mistakes. Unfair to slag Walsall off as we were well beaten by a much better professional team. For them Howard caused us problems all night, Fryatt was brilliant Martin commanded his area. As soon as they got possesion they pushed up switching play our defence had a mare. I\\\'m just glad it stayed down to 1-4 it could quite easily been double that.
as a midtable team sometimes you just get stuffed by a far better team. obviously a cack result but we wont play any other teams as good as leicester. thank god!
Beaten at home by the best team in the league. It happens.
they are miles ahead of anyone in this league. especially us
Leicester were a far better team. Classy and creative. It\\\'s a case of forget about it and get on with Saturday\\\'s game
We were second best throughout to a Leicester team who were stronger in every department. I\\\'d go along with most of what Caldy has posted, above. Leicester were quicker and harder-working, all over the field.
I am not having a go at team or management, as Leicester are miles above anyone in this league.
Just defrostin after sitting through 90 minutes of men against boys.

Leicester are quite simply a class above, they will def be promoted and deserve to be.

They took the foot off the gas when 4-0 or it could have been a lot worse.

Very one sided game, they were a class above, at least the players know they wont have a harder game for the rest of the season

---

But if a team like leicester is on top of their game, passing the ball around well, its hard not to chase shadows and get tired. Otherwise they will keep the ball all night

:thumbup::D

Got a lot of time for Walsall. They gave us a really good game at the Walkers, they beat Leeds 1-0 and they made a huge effort to get tonight\\\'s game on so we could all have a cracking night.

Cheers!

BTW, most pleasing of all really...

I really enjoyed their fans. Good-natured, witty chants, and lots of them (in both senses).

noticable gulf in class tonight... not just us and leicester, but leicester and leeds... leicester move the ball quickly, have pace/mobility all over the pitch. Howard won everything in the air, antnee tried his best but was completely outdone in the air by howard.... matty fryatt, runs in behind the back four caught us out and dyers pace on the left again caused constant problems... suprised we did not close down the game more, and push up the back four and deny space for leicester to play in? on this performance leicester are well above div 1 and a class above 'famous' leeds.

Excellent night out, fine win and terrific performance. Hobbs was my stand out man with Cleverly and Steve both putting in fantastic shifts although I doubt I'd rate one player less than an 8 of those who started.

Decent atmosphere I thought and great to see virtually all our support stood like Oldham and Scunny.

We were just far too good for them straight from the off but still a big win and a hugely enjoyable one with the players really responding to the crowd throughout, applauding us off (Dyer and Fryatt) Steve raising the arms before a corner just these little things that not many players from the last 4 years would have even dreampt about doing.

Yeah I read some of their comments, very decent bunch.

At least they are truthful unlike the dirty Leeds shite.

Leeds say they don't care about us yet they have 4 Leicester related threads over at WACCOE.

Piece of piss that, made it look a breeze.

Cleverly was very good, obviously Big Steve was majestic. (assist of the season)

Saw lots of FT'ers scattered all over, and was good to meet you Nathan, even if I didn't know who you were!

Really enjoyable night all round - glad they managed to get it on now.

Great performance, great chants, great entertainment all round. Only downside was the 30 minute wait for a drink at the bar before the game!

Just got back to London after the match. What a game, what a result, what a cracking laugh

Well done to everyone who made it to the game, hope you're all feeling a bit warmer by now. Commiserations to those who couldn't make it, it was a top night.

Incey, shake your ass, Incey, Incey shake your ass! :D

what a cracking night, really enjoyed my first away game. Watching city play lovely football for an hour or so :) Enjoyed the fans chants and songs...Stood next to a guy who shouted shoot very loudly!!! :D Loved the fact that you could stand but slightly upset that walsall fans didnt even get into it...tho its hard when ur two down almost instantly.

Anyone know why Fryatt came off? After that point, we seem to loose a lot of our attacking edge and Howard and Dickov don't seem to work together...

Was a really good evening and its got me hooked on going to watch Us play...need a job now and money to buy flowers for my suffering G/F, I did leave her with a ten day old newborn!!!!

I'm hooked again Yay :D

You did look a little startled. But I thought I would say hello as it would have been rude not to.

Cleverley was my man of the match last night. I thought Howard was class and I loved it when he dedicated that goal to us. Big Steve!!!

Excellent crowd last night, a lot of good banter between fans and especially Ince.

One guy next to me shouting " Incey get your sock out" got a few chuckles.

Marvellous night.

Team and fans were terrific and even the stewards joined in by taking a few well aimed snowballs in good humour.

In one of their best hour's of football this season City scored some super goals.

First Matty Fryatt glanced in a header from Oakley's corner and made the third to remind his former fans what they're missing. A blistering volley not long afterwards might have produced a memorable second but it went wide.

Then came another contribution to Kingy's scrapbook of magic goals with the coolest tee up and half volley you'll ever see - and the inevitable finish in the corner of the net.

Goal three was a multi-pass classic with King at its heart with a calmly picked out pass within a mellee of players which eventually left Cleverley with his first goal for the club and a moment to savour for his lifetime.

Finally the irrepressible Steve Howard continued his run of scoring form with an individual thunderbolt from an acute angle on the right. It seemed the chance had gone but somehow he adjusted his aim, kept his shot down and found the power to beat the fast recovering defence.

Walsall's crowd weren't in it to begin with and as City's football started to flow it only got worse for them. "Cheerio, cheerio, cheerio" is a familiar mocking 10 or 15 minutes from time but Walsall's fans started leaving in quite significant numbers when City's fourth went in around the hour mark!

"We're top of the League and we're having a laugh"was only emphasised with the follow up .... "shall we score a goal for you," and the inevitable "We'd forgotten you were here" response when Walsall scored their consolation and their fans finally betrayed their presence.

Such was the absence of Walsall fans that the two sections of City fans actually teaased each other with chants of Who Are You, Who Are You...it all turned into something of a carnival in the end.

Some great performances. Howard again got a goal and gave the impression he'd take the world on his shoulders for the team if he had too.

The running off Howard was excellent with Cleverley giving the sort of livewire display that suggests he's every bit as good as the departed Davies. A goal and endless contributions perhaps earned him MoM for me although I've given both he and howard the same mark in my ratings.

Then there was Kingy with his goal, his cool pass to Fryatt who then set up Cleverley's goal, and his very near miss alongside his regular contribution in linking our various parts together and offering insurance to the risk takers.

And there were other decent contributions too until the boss started ringing the changes during the last half-hour and I was left a bit shocked at how suddenly the smooth-running of our so-familiar team became shoddy.

There was a first appearance from the bench for new centre-back Brown and he looked alright. But Berner and Dickov seemed strangely out of place and, when we might have expected a flourish the finale was a distinct anti-climax apart from the fans.

Another game unbeaten though, another three points and another wave to the increasingly distant chasing pack.

Congratulations to Walsall's staff for working so hard to get the game on and present a pitch that was a credit to them.

Stewards and police were helpful, good natured and not the least bit bolshy and finally there was the snowball fight, first between the two blocks of City fans and then with the stewards as the focus to round it all off. Altogether a night to remember for nothing but the right sort of reasons.

Couldnt have said it any better, one thing you missed thou mate was the brilliant display by both Oakley and Hobbs ( I thought he was brilliant for city, best display by far), and even the roads were clear! on the return...

Great evening out.

A tad embarrasing at times - it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Shame for Walsall having gone to trouble to get the game on.

Missed the start as the queue for a pie took over half an hour !!

Missed the snowball fight as I had to leave to get the train back to Leicester.

Other than that, some great football.

Let's hope we can keep it up on Saturday.
