They blatantly had already sold the advertising space and decided to show it anyway. Wankers. That's actually kind of what happened. ITV had pre planned an ad break using an automated system which some bright spark forgot to turn off when the game went to extra time. Given the fact they went to an adbreak whoever had to fix the mess did well to get back so quickly.

Oh, and Liverpool play boring crappy football, they are a disgrace to football. As mentioned elsewhere, I found the game so boring I fell asleep until the last minutes. But whether Gosling had a bad game or not that was a superlative winner he scored. I know it took a slight deflection but how he manouevred his way from a position of near hopelessness to evade four defenders with his shot was sheer class. And that's the point about quality players. They can do sod-all but suddenly deliver the one bit of magic that delivers a result.

They are the most sucessful team in England along with Man United and they are currently 2nd in the League and in the knock out stage of the Champions League.
