Ashley Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 My ITV was fine. The advert came before the goal. As with me, fair play to the young lad gosling, good goal.
JakeShingler Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 i got the Fa Cup add thing 'bringing families together' then footy came back on a minute or so before the goalHow strange My ITV was fine. The advert came before the goal. Yeh me too
Vacamion Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Because I live in Scotland I have to watch ITV london on SKY. It went to adverts just before the goal. 2 hours of footy watching to miss the goal... Steve Ryder can kiss my hairy muck trumpet
martyn Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Think it's different depending on the region you live. My coverage went back with the Everton players mobbing eachother. ITV should be banned from showing football, 118 minutes of utter dross football and then miss the goal due to adverts...you couldn't write it.
Guest Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Listening to it on 5 Live and now it's 606. Quick question, does Marcotti annoy anybody else as intensely as he does me?

Koke Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Does anybody else think Phil Jagielka is vastly under-rated? The man is immense.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Does anybody else think Phil Jagielka is vastly under-rated?The man is immense. In every position he plays. He must be in the next England squad.
Scow Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I'm glad it's over. Let's hope Villa knock out Everton now.
Ashley Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I'm glad it's over. Let's hope Villa knock out Everton now. If this next round game is anything like the 3-2 encounter earlier in the season, it'll be a good game to watch.
TrickyTrev Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I hate ITV. They should be stripped of the FA cup rights after that dibacle. They blatantly had already sold the advertising space and decided to show it anyway. Wankers.
martyn Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I think they must have an automated system and that those adverts were placed after/before Regional News programs. Maybe that goes to explain why some regions didn't miss the goal, whilst others did....depending on how quickly each region noticed what was happening.
Sods Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 That was hilarious, ITV you planks. Down the pub and that happens. Liverpool fans cheered when it came back on, then realised they had let one in.
Corky Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 That was hilarious, ITV you planks.Down the pub and that happens. Liverpool fans cheered when it came back on, then realised they had let one in. Oh classic
JoeyB Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Does anybody else think Phil Jagielka is vastly under-rated?The man is immense. Fully agree ITV = Suck.Terrible game. Fully agree with both of ya.
Anish Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 ITV wankers. Watched the whole game without somehow nodding off. Then the tossers at ITV put an advert on and we miss the goal Rafa's tactics and the Liverpool performance was a sackable offence imo - that sort of football was horrific to watch.
Ultra Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Liverpool's season is disintegrating before our eyes. Within days of Keane's departure, Torres picks up ANOTHER injury. And worse still for them, Stevie G is injured too. Can't see Benitez surviving ANOTHER trophy-free season..
The Stig Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Post from someone who works in broadcasting on Digital Spy with regard to the ITV situation, IMHO it appears that the London TX system either fell over as a result of some desperate attempt to restore the coverage following an incorrectly timed ad break or simply crashed and caused the whole mess. This latter version could explain the lack of 16:9 switching and the long held ITV 1 static caption that I saw. In the first scenario the London TX system would've had a hard start time in place for the ad break which wasn't manually removed. The live source (i.e the match/coverage) would be forced off air by such a 'hard start time', assuming the Leeds TX were simply relaying the output of the London TX it appears they manually intervened to take the live feed direct to air independently on their system. London should have done the same but it seems they delayed carrying this out (a simple emergency router should have been in place). Either way, in attempting to recover normal automation operations the mess that followed (no 16:9 switch, caption and on air clock) may have been the result of human error whilst the system failure was restored. Personally I would find it staggering if it transpires a Transmission Controller just let the live source be cut off air by a hard start time event (the ad) and didn't react instantly by cutting away from the automation to the source direct.
