davieG Posted 15 March 2009 Posted 15 March 2009 I dont think anyone would call you disloyal after all the support you have clearly shown. I think you have done an honourable deed and your kids will understand and possibly benefit, im actually starting to feel guilty that ill be leaving my (come august) 8 month old son and wife at home. (though they will benefit as we want to keep our seats for when he is old enough to go). I only hope that the senior management one day realise the fans make the club. I've been going since the 60's and have never felt that.
volpeazzurro Posted 15 March 2009 Posted 15 March 2009 I doubt anyone will.I am in exactly the same boat as you mate. I can afford to go, I do want to go, I don't want tolose my seat! However if they believe they can dictate to me how I spend my money, then they can go swivel. You are correct that this is a smoke screen. They need the money & commitment for something! I want to be treated like a good customer, not a mug. If that means I spend more time with my daughter or renewing at a later date for more money in a different seat so be it Thanks Kilworthfox, I thought I was going to get skinned alive! Surely if fans remained loyal and bought season tickets following an historical relegation (and a crap few seasons), then logic dictates that theres more than a fair chance that at least a similar number will renew again this coming season. So just what is it that makes MM do this? Is he trying to balance the books a bit before trying for a quick pre-seaon sale? Will the early knowledge of sales enable him to be more dominant in the transfer/loan market? I doubt it as most deals are done in July when all the offers on the table are looked at in detail by chairmen and managers etc. So what could it be?

Hoos has already claimed in his patronising press release that the money needs to be available for NP in MAY! So player purchase has nothing to do with this abominable cut off date!

Milan is trying to balance the books so he can cut his losses. i doubt it but it is a credable theory. I think they want to raise ticket prices, and I think if they make it difficult for the fans then they win either way. However 1 thing is for sure, they really really want the money out of us ST holders ASAP.
Ultra Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Gritted my teeth and renewed half an hour before the deadline, even though work commitments mean I may miss up to SIX midweek home games next season. I can understand folk who feel the club is messing us about. But ultimately the threat of losing away priority status, and risking missing out on quality days like Saturday, was what convinced me to cough up.
philce Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Well I've renewed because I can't afford paying more and especially not matchday prices, the ST at these 'blakmailed' prices enables me to see half the games free compared to matchday pricing. but then I've only got me to think about.I always had problems money wise taking my kids so can well understand anyone not being able to manage it. I also admire anyone with the will power to resist this disreputable selling technique but for it to be telling on LCFc you need to resist the temptation of going to home games otherwise they still win because they've pushed you into paying the extra. For the discerning fan it really is a no win situation. I renewed with my 7yr old daughter and her seat is £7 for the season. Yes I know its free in the "Family Stand", but I dont think I could keep my mouth shut there! This alone has justified the ticket and the already discussed behavior of the club's PR.

I decided to get a season ticket after 4 years of not having one for me and the boy. Although financially this year it wasn't wise to do so, the boy is really getting into footy and loves going to the see city, so we better get promoted or the season ticket is going back!!
