Posted on: Sat 14 Mar 2009 Leicester City supporters are again reminded that they have until Sunday, March 15 to take advantage of the current Season Ticket price freeze.

And current Season Ticket Holders should also be aware that any seats not renewed by this date will be available on general sale to the public from Monday, March 16.

Fans can still take advantage of the club's easy payment option which allows them to spread the cost of the purchase following an initial £50 deposit (£25 for under 18).

Supporters are also reminded that there will be a five percent increase in the price of Season Tickets following the deadline.

Well I've just renewed mine online. What I don't understand is that I can buy a pack of gum at a supermarket on my debit card and not pay any extra - hell even my local shop only charge 50p to "cover the costs" - so why do LCFC feel justified in charging me nearly £5 for a £322 purchase?

Because you and everyone else paid it.

And until you stop letting them treat you like twat they will continue to do so?

I decided to use my debit card in order to avoid any extra charges, when I found out that doing so online would cost me extra, I waited until I was in Leicester then called in at the ticket office.

Guess what, it cost me no extra renewing personally using my debit card in the office.

So why charge extra if using debit card online. It surely doesn't cost the club anymore money.

It's enough to put you off purchasing anything.

If a major store treated customers in this way they would soon be boycotted.

They accept debit cards too.

No charge on debit cards like credit cards either.

It felt good, until Mark's came to £100 or so cheaper than mine regardless

I don't have 200 odd quid spare on my debit card either so am stuck with a £4 'admin' charge for paying by installments.

I have not renewed.....yet.

There's a 1.7% charge on credit cards.

I part paid on a debit card and a credit card (roughly 50/50) and WASNT charged a fee.

Go figure!

I'm really sorry that my wife getting me and my lad season tickets as a present offends you so much - I'll make sure she checks in with you in future. In fact, with my birthday coming up really soon, this needs to happen smartish otherwise you may be deeply upset with some of her other purchases.

When's your birthday Dave? Is it on the day of a home match?

In-between, so I've designated Leeds and Southend as my birthday matches.

Father Ted is no longer invited to my party, he is not allowed any jelly.

I agree mate, so I'm not. My first match was in December 1969 and bar a five year break when we had our first child in 1998 when I couldn't honestly justify the expense (still had membership and went to as many matches as possible), I've had season tickets for many years. When my daughter was five and then subsequently my son, we've had 3 season tickets first in the family stand and then last year, although we got relegated, I spent even more money for the three of us to go into the West stand so they could be nearer the players (sad I know). Although I could phisically afford to get 3 more tickets this year I refuse to do so under these circumstances. During these times of hardship, many other people might not be able to afford to buy a ticket so soon and to essentially threaten them by not guaranteeing them their seat unless they do so (or pay even more money for the privelige) is not on. So Leicester City, have my usually guarenteed 3 x season ticket sales and sell them to someone else if you can because I'm beyond caring! This notion of trying to work out how much money there is to spend on new players is just bullshit and a smokescreen, how many other clubs are doing this to their loyal fans? Mandaric must think we are a complete bunch of idiots and the pathetic hogwash continually dished out by the PR machine obviously assumes we are all just a little simple in the head. Will I still follow Leicester City? Yes of course I will and will no doubt go to the occasional game with my kids. In the meantime I'll listen on the radio and do more camping and other things with the kids. I know some of you will no doubt slag me off for this and call me disloyal etc etc etc but after giving it a lot of consideration, its just the way I feel and we are all entitled to our opinion.

Cheers folks.

I doubt anyone will.

I am in exactly the same boat as you mate. I can afford to go, I do want to go, I don't want tolose my seat! However if they believe they can dictate to me how I spend my money, then they can go swivel. You are correct that this is a smoke screen. They need the money & commitment for something!

I want to be treated like a good customer, not a mug. If that means I spend more time with my daughter or renewing at a later date for more money in a different seat so be it

Well I've renewed because I can't afford paying more and especially not matchday prices, the ST at these 'blakmailed' prices enables me to see half the games free compared to matchday pricing. but then I've only got me to think about.

I always had problems money wise taking my kids so can well understand anyone not being able to manage it.

I also admire anyone with the will power to resist this disreputable selling technique but for it to be telling on LCFc you need to resist the temptation of going to home games otherwise they still win because they've pushed you into paying the extra.

For the discerning fan it really is a no win situation.

I dont think anyone would call you disloyal after all the support you have clearly shown. I think you have done an honourable deed and your kids will understand and possibly benefit, im actually starting to feel guilty that ill be leaving my (come august) 8 month old son and wife at home. (though they will benefit as we want to keep our seats for when he is old enough to go). I only hope that the senior management one day realise the fans make the club.
