Corky Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 It's up to you. I will renew, but I can understand why many others aren't.
Dr The Singh Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 If you've got the cash, do it, you'll save money!! If you don't have a lump sum then you pay the £4 admin!!!
davieG Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 If you've got the cash, do it, you'll save money!! If you don't have a lump sum then you pay the £4 admin!!! The £4 admin fee only gives you and extra couple of weeks to find the balance. I'm renewing before the deadline as I can't afford/wont pay more. For me it's either the same price of no going at all to home games.

I thought the £4 fee was a charge every month and that you could pay in instalments.......sorry DG, i'm not a season ticket holder!!!

You're right but the first payment or the balance after your £50 deposit is the end of March and will cost you £4. The first monthly fee is actually just a fortnight.
Kilworthfox Posted 11 March 2009 Author Posted 11 March 2009 Why wouldn't you renew?? Lack of respect shown to ST holders Friends not renewing I have serious reservations about L1 and atmosphere next season I could spend the time with my family and take my daughter out instead I could just do away games, as these are so much more of an enjoyable day Cost The clubs lies about price freezing if you include the VAT drop The only thing wanting me to renew is the mug supporter in me, who is feeling very let down by LCFC & is feeling selfish towards his daughter at the moment.
Ibbyfox Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 Not only renewed current ST's but ended up buying an extra season ticket. This season I have 2, one for me and the other is alternated between my nephew and niece. But when I went to renew last week I didn't realise that the £125 offer was for under 18's instead of under 16's so worked out I could buy 3 ST's for roughly the same price as 2 cost last season, since my nephew last season was 16-22 age group and now is under 18 - so now nephew & niece happy coz they can both go to all the games. Personally I think the new prices are pretty good irrespective of whether the deadline is March 15th. If you're going to buy one then you have to find the cash sometime so why not March rather than May? Unless you have a cash flow issue of course .............

Well it's all well and good if you happen to fit into one of the privileged age groups otherwise it's still a price increase which ever way they try to spin it and if you do happen to have a cashflow problem, not unusual in the present times it's a very hefty price increase.

It is not about the money to me. the prices are fair, I wish they could have said that the prices will stay the same as last season, but the fans will not see the VAT % change. I could accept that, that would have been honest. ST prices are fine. I am thinking that I have 2 spare days per week, do i really want to spend the most of 1 day watching a team where I feel i as a fan am not appreciated by those who run the club, and will do what they say I.E renewing early. to me it is a lack of respect, however I lose either way as if I change my mind and go, I get charged more! They have me all ends up! I may aswell not go <_<
Guest Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 I've renewed but I can understand why people feel pissed off at the way the club has handled the renewal process. I just really want to see this team (or the parts of it that are left at the beginning of next season), compete in the championship under NP (not counting chickens just yet)
Tommeh Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 Prices arn't the problem for me, I mean yes it's still a rip off but compared to other clubs? Our prices are ok. For me it's just the whole "matchday experience" bollocks they come out with, the "come on you foxes" chelsea dagger crap and the fact away game are 10 times better.

I may aswell not go <_< I do sympathise mate, but I guess it's down to how much of the crap you are willing to take to watch your team and how badly you want to watch your team. Eveybody has their limit in that respect. As DavieG says, in a lot of circumstances they are taking advantage of the "druggie" effect of supporters renewing whatever. Well it's all well and good if you happen to fit into one of the privileged age groups otherwise it's still a price increase which ever way they try to spin it and if you do happen to have a cashflow problem, not unusual in the present times it's a very hefty price increase. Fair point - I guess I'm one of the lucky ones (or rather my nephew and/or niece is!). And I do appreciate that finding the cash a couple of months early can be hard.
Munzie Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 Whatever the protocal for ST renewals, it's never going to please everyone. There seems to be three main sticking points, renewal deadline, no VAT reduction, monthly admin fees. i) Renewal Deadline - My take on this is for exisitng STH to benefit from little or no price increases. If funds permit, you are able to secure your seat (hopefully for Championship football) without any price increase. This is the second season where no price increase has happened. If you don't have funds now £50 deposit will secure your seat. ii) No VAT reduction - Most retail outlets have not passed on VAT reductions or have reverted to their old prices shortly after. Some have opted to give the difference to charity given the huge logistics of altering the system. Whatever they have done, the punter does not benefit. Also, this would never have stopped people buying goods/services. iii) Monthly admin fees - There is always an associated cost with operating a direct debit scheme. Also, the club are deferring a huge chunk of revenue that they should receive before the season starts. This impacts greatly on future decisions such as the buying of new players. In summary, you can moan and whinge all you want. The majority will still renew at some stage. This happened last year when the moaning was about the fact that ST were frozen and not reduced given our relegation status. 11,500 still renewed.

You missed out probably the most important whinge - the dishonest, sleight of hand, patronising, top spinning bullshit they use to sell these STs.

Unfortunately davieG, that's marketing and sales for you. Unless you operate in a regulated world, spin creates interest and desire.

Munzie Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 Doesn't seem to be working too well with LCFC fans From the posts on here, you are right. I suppose the proof will be the amount who do renew before the deadline and continue to do so over the coming months. Trouble us, with the aforementioned spin the club places on such things, we will never know! Given our nearly achieved Championship status, I have little doubt that 11.5k ST sales is a reasonable target to reach.

And Bentley's roof, don't know about Talking Balls, the Mockery readers aren't too happy either http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/spor...=true#community Even if there is a good selling rate it doesn't mean the spin has worked rather the blackmail has!

Club not opening the office up after 5pm so that those of us who work for a ****ing living could speak to someone because we can't do it online. Neither did anyone phone me in the three hours I gave them to do it this morning. As it is it now comes down to whether I can manage to get driven over to the ticket office on Sunday with my raging post-Milwall hangover and - seeing as I am sick to the back teeth of being told I have to renew by then, and pissed off with Tinbergen's twat letter, I am firmly back in the 'bollocks to it all' camp.
Daggers Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 I have little doubt that 11.5k ST sales is a reasonable target to reach. I have given the sheer number of people I know who are not renewing or (for the first time) are wavering like mad. Just look on here at the number of hard-core *home&away supporters who are not bothering next season. I think the club have managed to find a sure-fire way to become one of the few clubs to get promoted and lose ST holders in the process. *cue: Neighbours gag.

Father Ted Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 MM has been a businessman since the age of 16! He knows how to make money and that is exactly what he is doing and if he has to do it with us in the way he doesn't care but he is so unbelievable clever and knows exactly how to get the fans under his power.
