welck12 Posted 27 March 2009 Posted 27 March 2009 I'm more of a Daily Star man to be honest, the content is more on my wavelength. I only read the Daily Mail because it was the only paper in the hairdressers at the time. Was an interesting read and looking at what the journo's have said the woman who put her views down doesnt have a sodding clue mind. I thought that as well! But then the rest of them had about 2 different variations between the lot of them, which is a joke for a bunch of "educated" sports writers; its not like all the picks are sure fire picks either. BUt the piece itself i agree, good read. I only read it as some cow in front of me in the canteen at work stole the mirror

TrickyTrev Posted 27 March 2009 Posted 27 March 2009 Best Manager outside of the 'Top Four'? - Roy Hodgson. Zola has done a great job down at West Ham too, but it is a little to early to say. Player of the season? - Steven Gerrard Flop of the season? - Deco Overated and Underated players? - Barry - Valencia Highlight of the season? - That with 7/8 games left almost every team in the premier league has something to play for. Great title/european race and the most difficult to read relegation fight in years. Team of the year? In a 4-2-3-1, the formation of the season. Reina-There are no good right backs in the Premiership-Ferdinand-Vidic-Clichy-Carrick-Mascherano-Gerrard-Falleni-Young-Van Persie
Ultra Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Best Manager outside of the 'Top Four'? - Phil Brown, for keeping Hull at least six places higher than most people thought they would be at this stage. Player of the season? - Edwin Van der Sar Flop of the season? - Afonso Alves Overated and Underated players? - Alonso - Palacios Highlight of the season? - When we're promoted (although the relegation of Forest or Newcastle may run this close...) Team of the year? Van der Sar - Bosingwa, Vidic, Ferdinand, Clichy - Lennon, Carrick, Lampard, A. Young - Rooney, Anelka
Uncle Albert Posted 28 March 2009 Author Posted 28 March 2009 Team of the year? Van der Sar - Bosingwa, Vidic, Ferdinand, Clichy - Lennon, Carrick, Lampard, A. Young - Rooney, Anelka You may have some problem with Liverpool and thats upto you obviously but not to have Steven Gerrard in your team of the year is just stupid. He is the 2nd top scorer in the League and has been up there with the best this season. Possiblyy this season has also been the best player in the world. Yet Lennon makes it into your team? Ow my. Lennon is probably the only winger in the League not able to put a cross in the air into the box. And dont get me started on your overated player. <_< Even I have placed players who I dislike in my team of the year, why? Because I am not some sad nobhead like yourself.

Hitesh Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Best Manager outside of the 'Top Four'? - Roy Hodgson Player of the season? - Steven Gerrard Flop of the season? - Robbie Keane to Liverpool Overated and Underated players? - Robinho and Brede Hangeland Highlight of the season? - Liverpool beating Man Utd 4-1 Team of the year? Reina, Bosingwa, Vidic, Hangeland, Jagielka, Aaron Lennon, Gerrard, Alonso, Ashley Young, Anelka and Torres
Uncle Albert Posted 28 March 2009 Author Posted 28 March 2009 I didn't pick Gerrard in my team either Well you are just as bad, bastards. I dont see how anyone cant pick him or Anelka after this season. It would be like not picking Vidic at the back.
Tevez Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 The best ones so far is Rory Delap player of the season and Alonso Overated player of the season. .

Appreciate that we all have opinions, but I think there are better players who could replace these two. Arshavin is a good player by all means, but has only been at Arsenal since January, and I don't think he's even played every game. As for ROnaldo, he goes missing in the big games, and is only half the player he was last season.

Hardly played at the start of the season and has still bagged 13 League goals, not bad for half a player at all.
Ultra Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 The best ones so far is Rory Delap player of the season and Alonso Overated player of the season.. Alonso's been very hit and miss. He may do well in big games but then be a total waste of space against teams like Stoke, Hull and Boro. I'm not massively impressed by his acting either - far worse than anything Ronaldo's done. Despite rumours to the contrary, there's no rule in place compelling all posters to engage in a scouse lovefest.
