Finnegan Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 I think you've got to be mad not to go for Steve Bruce, really turned himself around this year. Excellent form. Besides that I can't disagree with most of Albert's picks. A personal highlight of the season would be Jack Collison's first goal but on a more obvious level both of Liverpool's games against Man Utd were pretty good, Geovanni's goal at the Emirates and even though if didn't do much I quite liked Phil Brown's on-pitch team talk.

StanSP Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 Treat yourselves. Waiting for someone to do that . Also add to my highlights: Geovanni's goals against Tottenham and Arsenal. Hull going great in the first half of the season. Man City bidding £100m for Kaka
dandannieldanok Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 How is Robinho overated? 11 goals this season. £32m; you expect more than that imo. He is so consistently poor away from home. He's definitely overrated for me.
Uncle Albert Posted 26 March 2009 Author Posted 26 March 2009 Treat yourselves. Sozza. How is Robinho overated? 11 goals this season. 11 League goals? Wow! I shit that in my sleep. He has been poor very poor.
lildave3 Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 £32m; you expect more than that imo. He is so consistently poor away from home. He's definitely overrated for me. I love him and even I think he's a bit overrated.

Fair enough it's a matter of opinion but I feel one player cant make a whole team win (bar Ronaldo last season ) but all in all he has not done that badly considering. He has gone off form recently but if you compare him to the Robbie Keane transfer then he is a steal.
StanSP Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 In regard to all the Robinho comments - he only performs at home matches. Away matches he seems lazy and goes missing. So for 32m you expect a player to perform whether you play home or away.
Edmund Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 Couple others : Jimmy Bullard has been a bit of a flop also at Hull with his injuries since he joined them. Bet he wished he stayed at Fulham. Shaun Wright Phillips has got to be one of the buys of the season as well.

That's like saying Essien is a flop because he hasn't played for Chelsea for about 7 months. But I agree about SWP. Always liked him and if he isn't in the England squad, he should be.

For me spending 5 million on a player who doesn't play is a transfer flop.
