Matt Posted 12 April 2009 Author Posted 12 April 2009 chris, tom, and serge are leicester fans not sure who ian matthews supports and jay mayler sp ? is american so unlikely he is a 'soccer' fan Hmmm for some reason I thought Chris was the Leeds fan.
Babylon Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Hmmm for some reason I thought Chris was the Leeds fan. He is from what he has said on Soccer AM over the years.
Matt Posted 13 April 2009 Author Posted 13 April 2009 He is from what he has said on Soccer AM over the years. Yeah that where I heard it too. Glad i'm not the only one who saw that and thinks that. But I then searched Chris Edwards, It came up with his myspace profile and; Heroes - Kasabian - Serge Pizzorno, Tom Meighan, Ian Matthews, Jay Mahler, Leicester City Football Club, Mum 'n' Dad. He needs to pick his team!
Finchy Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 I can not stop listening to this Underdog song, my god it's so good! Can't wait to see em play this at De Montfort! Liiiiiiife in technicolor sprayed out on walls, well i've been poundin' on the pavement 'till there's nothin' at all. Chuuune
MC Prussian Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Gave both "Fire" and "Underdog" a listen to. First starts out quietly, then develops into a nice groovy tune. Prefer "Underdog", though. Stylee.

Glad i'm not the only one who saw that and thinks that. But I then searched Chris Edwards, It came up with his myspace profile and; He needs to pick his team! He IS a Leeds fans. Footy Q&A: Kasabian`s Chris EdwardsHe's the bassist of the Leicester-supporting rockers. Except he supports Leeds because of Gary Mac. Though he watches Leicester, plays for Leicester Legends, has a Leicester shirt... So Kasabian are all famous Leicester fans... Actually no, I support Leeds and have done since 1990. When I was a kid I was a massive fan of Gary McAllister and when he switched to Leeds I went with him. What can I say, I was nine, he was my very favourite player and I supported him rather than Leicester. It goes without saying that I've had a lot of stick about that. And no, I didn't then switch to Coventry and Liverpool when Gary Mac left, I stuck with Leeds. When we won the title in 1992 it looked like a good decision. It doesn't look so great now. So how does it feel seeing Leicester go up and Leeds fail then? I like to see Leicester do well, I think it's brilliant for the city and the club. The only time I don't want them to win is when they play Leeds. Then I'm on my own because I only know about two other Leeds fans, so most of the time it's all about Leicester City. But if Leicester had to go down to send Leeds up, I'd sacrifice Leicester. Not sure how that would go down with the rest of the band, mind. So if a gig clashed with a big Leicester or Leeds game, what happens? The music comes first these days. We love football but this is what we do now and everything else takes a back seat. There was a time when Tom would be down Filbert Street every other week and he'd go to the away games and everything, but now we catch it when we can. I wasn't even that gutted when Leeds didn't go up because I knew I wouldn't see much of next season because we're on tour for 18 months. Once we were were playing a big gig on the same afternoon as the World Cup final and we had to go on and just get score updates from the side of the stage. But it's not like you can complain, is it? So how often do you see Leeds? I didn't see them at all last season, but I saw Leicester about seven or eight times because we have four seats there, right next to the players' wives. And I have a friend who owns a box so he lets me in there when he's not entertaining clients. It's not that easy for me to see Leeds. So are you the band's best footballer? No, that would have to be Serge because he played for Nottingham Forest Under-15s - he reckoned he wore his Leicester socks under his Forest kit as a little act of rebellion. Because we're in a band we get to play in celebrity tournaments, and I've been playing with a Leicester City Legends team with people like Gerry Taggart, Muzzy Izzet and Steve Walsh. They all know I'm a Leeds fan and give me loads of shit about it. So do you wear Leeds socks under the kit? Ha ha no, I just wear the full kit. I still have the first Leicester shirt I ever had from when I was five. I wouldn't let my mum throw that one out, even when I switched to Leeds. So is there any point asking who your favourite footballer is? Well obviously it's Gary Mac, but if you're talking the best players ever then I would have to say Zinedine Zidane. I remember watching him tear Man United apart for Real Madrid and just standing up and applauding. He was totally taking the mick and that was out of this world. So do plastic Leeds fans still hate Man United? Well, I do because I have a brother who supports them. There's three of us and we support Man United, Leeds and Oldham, and we're from Leicester. How insane is that? So what's your favourite football song? People usually say World In Motion... Maybe I'm a bit too young for that. Aaaggh, this is a difficult one - I can't really say Three Lions can I? I actually like Nessun Dorma or that song they sing before Barcelona games. That's not very rock 'n' roll, is it? Presumably if Leicester got to a cup final, you lot would write a song? Ha ha, probably not. I'm sure we could but it's more a matter of if we'd want to - though the rest of the band might insist. We have done a 15-second edit of our single 'Fire' and sent it to the club, though. We quite fancy the idea of 30,000 people singing 'I'm on fire' every time Leicester scored. Now that would be pretty cool. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...5338773,00.html
MC Prussian Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Am I mistaken or does the second song played in indeed sound like a Kasabian rendition of Bowie's "Heroes"?I know the video's from 2006, but I've not yet heard that one song on any of their previous two albums...
MC Prussian Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 They did it for the World Cup 2006 coverage yeah. I know it's got something to do with copyright issues and royalties, but it'd be still nice if they could throw it onto the album as a bonus track.
