Anyone know where this bloke is? I was just wondering where he had gone because i remember him being a good player for Derby's 06/07 promotion season to the Premiership...but he then got released for some strange reason

Yeh, i think Leeds paid Derby £7 Million for him once? not sure. I remember a situation where if Johnson played one more game for Leeds they would have to £500,000 to Derby. Then went back to Derby for zilch.

A Leeds fan once told that when Seth Johnson went to see Leeds to sign for them him and his agent were going to ask for £6k a week but before he'd said a word Peter Ridsdale offered him £20k a week.

I don't know whether that's an urban myth but apparently it's well know amongst Leeds fans.

That's been floating around for years, with varying salary levels stated.

Wikipedia, for example, currently has the numbers being 13k (agent/player), a 30k offer from Ridsdale, followed by an upping to 37k by Ridsdale when the agent displayed surprised at the figure on offer.

Another version has "ask for 20k, settle for 15k" only for Ridsdale to offer 25k and then 35k in a similar sequence to the above.

At the same time, some say the wage figure is true (he was supposedly on 7k at Derby) and that the player and agent demanded that level of pay, and Ridsdale stupidly accepted. Ridsdale... stupid... that's a common theme in both versions.
