Arthur Rowley Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Hi all I'm a newbie to your forum but I have been a City supporter all of my life. I immigrated to New Zealand when I was 12 years old with my Family, way back in 1958. I saw the City play many times as a little lad and Arthur Rowley was my hero and still is today. (RIP Arthur) If you have a bar the virtual drinks are on me. Fifty one years since I left Mountsorrel. Been back once saw city get knocked out of a quarter final at Filbert St by Everton, 66/67 I think, plus many more games in the 15 months I was back home. I was thrilled to bits when I opened up the computer and saw on the Blue Army site that City had won at the weekend. I had a right old party by myself. My Mrs thought I had finally lost my marbles. I'm so pleased to be back where we belong and let's hope Nigel and the lads can get back to the Premier league next season. "UP the City" Cheers all A.R.

Arthur Rowley Posted 20 April 2009 Author Posted 20 April 2009 Thanks for the very warm welcome guys, I remember well walking through the turn styles in the picture posted in an earlier post. I look forward to posting on a regular basis. We are going into our winter down here in NZ in the of season up their in the Northern Hemisphere, I follow my beloved All Blacks. But my roots stretch back to Leicester so they are my number one team that I follow. There is not a a day goes by that I don't read the Leicester Mercury's Blue Army page plus a couple of other sites I look at. Is there any other sites I can read up about the City? Thank Christ we are leaving those terrible little poky grounds behind in League one. What ever happened to the village Idiot that put us down in that league (Holloway) then again who cares. In my opinion Ollie couldn't train a pig to stink. For you guys that are visiting the shaky Isles (NZ) I live in a town on the West Coast of the North Island called Wanganui (40.000 population). It's about 235ks North West of the Capital City (Wellington) We are right on the Coast looking out into the Tasman Sea. If any of you get anywhere near Wanganui contact me by sending me a PM before you come out. That drink will be a pleasure to buy a fellow City supporter. I bought a shirt for ten Quid from the City shop and about the same to ship it to me. I'm glad I did now, because it will be treasured for the simple reason that it was the home shirt of the league one Champions of 2008-2009. My next purchase from the shop will be a City scarf. Cheers for now. AR
