Man Wins £41k On 4-4 Bet.

A SOCCER fan won more than £41,000 on Liverpool’s two successive 4-4 draws, it was revealed yesterday.

The 31-year-old landed £12,500 last week when he predicted the outcome of the club’s Champions League tie against Chelsea.

Then he put some of the winnings on backing the same score in Tuesday night’s Premiership clash against Arsenal.

He was rewarded after Gunners’ goal hero Andrey Arshavin scored four and Liverpool’s Yossi Benayoun got a last-gasp equaliser.

The father of two bet £25 at odds of 500-1 on the first match and £57.64 at 500-1 on the second.

He did not want to be identified because gambling is against his Muslim religion.

The punter, from Leicester, was made redundant from his job as a sales manager last November and said: “The money has been a lifeline. Now we can pay off our bills.”

Bookies Paddy Power said: “After our man’s recent tough times, we couldn’t be more delighted.”

And Coral spokesman David Stevens said: “After two 4-4 draws in a row, we’ll be watching out for a rush of bets on that score when Liverpool visit Hull this weekend.”

Ladbrokes said 18 of its customers backed Tuesday’s 4-4 score, winning a total of £14,000.

William Hill said: “By and large, punters dislike backing draws as they’re never sure which team they’re supporting at any given time.”

And bet365 said: “The 4-4 backers could be looking to play up their winnings before the end of the season.”

My mate won 500 off it as well, he's an everton fan. He had a quid left in his account so he put it on at half time as he said he couldnt find anything better to put it in!
