Ultra Posted 19 June 2009 Posted 19 June 2009 I think there are better options available to us than Anichebe.
mmarkie Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 I think there are better options available to us than Anichebe. Fair enough, I was only suggesting it though . What about Cameron Jerome?
Dan Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Possible new forwards: (I know some are quite unrealistic buts its just a mini shortlist) - Jason Scotland (Swansea) - Ross McCormack (Cardiff) - Marcus Tudgay (Sheff Weds) - Chris Iwelumo (Wolves) - Tamas Priskin (Watford)
edd Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Possible new forwards: (I know some are quite unrealistic buts its just a mini shortlist)- Jason Scotland (Swansea) - Ross McCormack (Cardiff) - Marcus Tudgay (Sheff Weds) - Chris Iwelumo (Wolves) - Tamas Priskin (Watford) Jason scotland is teh only one i would want/think could coem on that list. but he will go to wigan because of martinez:(
StanSP Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Jason scotland is teh only one i would want/think could coem on that list. but he will go to wigan because of martinez:( Priskin and Tudgay aren't unrealistic. Pearson would do well to get Tudgay in. He's done quite well at Sheff Weds in recent seasons.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Still reckon Jonathan Walters would be a class signing.
StanSP Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Still reckon Jonathan Walters would be a class signing. Yes please. Quite young aswell?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Yes please. Quite young aswell? 25, 26 in September, so around his peak in honesty. Could really see him being realistic if Keane gets some kind of cash to spend and wants to bring in his own players.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 I know Keane's likely to have plenty of cash to splash, but I'd be very surprised if they sold Walters.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 I know Keane's likely to have plenty of cash to splash, but I'd be very surprised if they sold Walters. I know it's more in hope than anything, but it's definately these types of players that we need to be going after, I know you'll agree.

Oh yes definitely agree, Walters has quietly gone about making a very successful career at this level, would be a great signing.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Oh yes definitely agree, Walters has quietly gone about making a very successful career at this level, would be a great signing. What would you make to Bothroyd?
StanSP Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 What would you make to Bothroyd? Walters is better imo.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 What would you make to Bothroyd? If he was cheap then yes, strikes me as very inconsistent. Could be a hotshot and get 20 goals or could struggle to hit a barn door.
StanSP Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 I know that. S'alright then . Bothroyd has a bit of an attitude sometimes. Not as much as Beckford though.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 If he was cheap then yes, strikes me as very inconsistent. Could be a hotshot and get 20 goals or could struggle to hit a barn door. Would be decent cover for Howard, but yeah, only on the cheap. 12 goals in 44 appearances.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Tommy Smith could be decent, similar player to Walters but perhaps not quite as good, would definitely be cheaper.

Would be very pleased with Tommy Smith, but was on SSN not long ago talking about a possible move to the Prem. He's good, but not that good.
Unknown Fox Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 I know Keane's likely to have plenty of cash to splash, but I'd be very surprised if they sold Walters. Agreed, but if we did get him it'd be quality and they would be asking around £2m wouldn't they?
tartanowl Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Priskin and Tudgay aren't unrealistic.Pearson would do well to get Tudgay in. He's done quite well at Sheff Weds in recent seasons. I beg to differ. He was the PFA Championship fans player of the year last season and has been our player of the year two seasons running. He's very much part of our plans and is also tied down to us until 2013. He is our most saleable asset and we are now in the position where we don't have to sell anyone. Have you got £3m+ to spend? Because you'd need it.

Arsene Wenger once paid £8m for him and he's a great judge of a player. What more evidence could you need? Enquiries to B. Laws, Hillsborough.
