QPR are expected to head a queue of clubs willing to pay a cut-price £400,000 for the 22-year-old who has made 133 appearances for the Saints. Surman is surely worth more than that, he's a very versatile player and has often been the only good player in Saints team. I hope we make a larger offer to get him, as at 400k I bet a lot of clubs will be interested. Might come down to personal choice at the end of the day, in which case we have the Pearson-factor, plus big Nige will know all about him and how to get the best out of him.

Tbh we'd be fools to let this one go, proven Championship quality and he will only get better. Regarding Campbell, I always thought there was more to him than we ever saw. We've seen a few things of him where I thought that was quite impressive etc. But overall theres no way we can keep him. £13k a week for someone that won't scrap to get us up to better things which is something we lacked under Holloway. Knowledge of a bloody brick when it comes to the offside rule and a shit scoring record for us as well. If we got £300,000 we are laughing, thats why i'm pissing myself that QPR are linked.

According to a report in Dutch newspaper De Pers, Eredivisie giants Ajax have reached an agreement with Groningen over the transfer of prolific hitman Marcus Berg. The 22-year-old has reportedly also attracted the interest of big teams such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Fiorentina, Villarreal and Stuttgart, but Ajax are reportedly sitting in pole position to secure his services. The Amsterdam side have been linked with the Swedish international for several months already, but Berg's impressive performances at the UEFA Under-21 Championships prompted Ajax to make an offer for the striker. Groningen have agreed to let go of their star player for a fee of €10.8 million if the report is to be believed. The transfer will be announced as soon as the Pride of the North have signed a replacement for Berg. However, other reports suggest that Groningen have set a €14 million asking price for Berg and that the striker won't make a decision about his future before the end of the Under-21 Championships.
