Red Leicester Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 If Sappleton doesn't start up front in both games I'm going to be gutted.
Stuliasz Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Surely this thread was just invented to wind up Alexikokopops?
leicesterseddon Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 well it's definately not the earliest roll-call ever - one's already started for newcastle away, which could be months and months away.
Guest Bilo Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Can't we have Grimsby or Lincoln away please? Both would suit me fine, it's a pig to get enough time off in the summer for pre-season games.

Bert Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Unless it's Kilworth driving from loughborough at 2 to get to Tamworth at 3, you won't be at the Tamworth game for kick off. Fancying the Tamworth game myself.
CosbehFox Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Fancying the Tamworth game myself. You been before? The Lambs is a s**thole of a ground.
mmarkie Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I'm going to Tamworth. I think more of the first team will be there.
Uncle Albert Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I don't want to give my money to Loughborough Dynamo. Tamworth all the way.
davieG Posted 10 July 2009 Posted 10 July 2009 From the Merc Gary Mills so proud of Tamworth – and Leicester City Gary Mills says he knows all about the promotion buzz experienced by Leicester City, who visit his current club, Tamworth, tomorrow for a pre-season friendly (3pm). Mills guided Tamworth into the Blue Square Premier last season at the same time as City were wrapping up the League One crown. "It was a fantastic season for us and it was great to see a club which is so close to my heart get back into the Championship," said Mills, who made more than 230 City appearances, including the play-off finals against Blackburn and Swindon. The Lambs manager said the five years he spent with City coincided with him playing what he reckoned was the best football of his career. And he has also had to experience the ups and downs of football management. "You get good times and bad times but it was great for us to get promoted." Mills said he would love Tamworth to follow the example of Burton, their Staffordshire rivals who made it into the Football League this season. And he said the clash with City will be an interesting test for his players. "We've only been back a couple of weeks so we'll be a bit ring-rusty but it's a good opportunity to assess the fitness of the players and work on our shape," said Mills. "We've got a young side and, of course, some of them feel they can play at a higher level so this will be a good test. We've got a challenging season ahead in the Blue Square against the likes of Luton, Mansfield and Oxford but it's great that we have made the progression." The match with Tamworth was originally scheduled to take place 12 months ago after former City player Gerry Taggart left his coaching role at The Lambs to join Nigel Pearson's backroom team. City's opening fixture is three hours before the Tamworth clash when they play at Loughborough Dynamo. John Folwell, manager of the Unibond League club, said it was a massive coup for Dynamo to attract City to the Nanpantan Sports Ground. Folwell said: "You cannot underestimate what this gesture by City means to this club. "It will raise our profile and the money we make through the turnstiles will also help the budget for the new season. "I'm so pleased they have agreed to come to us. "And I expect a few of the fans will go on to Tamworth afterwards."
