dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Exactly, support between us, Derby and Forest is pretty much identical in terms of numbers (all of which are excellent considering where we all are), Coventry is the poor relation Well it isn't, Derby averaged over 29,000 thousand whereas Forest got just over 22,000 and we got just over 20,000. There's quite a large difference there. Cov are just not important, pathetic support.
The Doctor Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Arsehole, couldn't have been a worse time to come out with this tripe after yesterday's revelations. Never in a million years will this club be averaging a 29,000 gate this season. in all honesty its not that unlikely if we start the season really well & the economy picks up in the next 2 months.

And the fact that Derby had just come down from the Prem, Forest had just come up from League One and we were in League One has nothing to do with it I suppose? <_< As I said, the situation could be completely reversed in a year or two's time.

The way Derby played in the prem it makes the attendance more impressive for me, they were utterly pathetic yet so many people came back. Our League One status should be taken into consideration yes, but if we'd stayed up we wouldn't have neared a 29,000 average. You can't excuse Forest's attendance, 22,000 is ok but not great for a club of their supposed size and history. I'm not saying Derby are that much better supported than us and Forest, but the stats cannot be ignored. I think what's happened is that Derby fans are getting treated better and are getting a better deal from the club compared to us and Forest.

Exactly. 2002/2003 Season average attendance stats Leicester - 29,230 Derby - 25,469 Forest - 24,436 2003/2004 Forest - 24,752 Derby - 22,199 2004/2005 Derby - 25,219 Leicester - 24,136 Forest - 23,652 2005/2006 Derby - 24,165 Leicester - 22,233 Forest (League 1) - 20,257 2006/2007 Derby - 25,944 Leicester - 23,205 Forest (League 1) - 20,617 I think these stats show that we are very close in numbers as far as support goes.
ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 maybe tommorows mercury headline should be "Fans calling on Hoos to outdo the rams"Leicester city fans are calling on Lee Hoos to get his head out of of his arse and match benefits that the rams board offers its fans. Bring back Tim Davies, I've just sent the following e-mail to Peter Jones: Dear Peter, I read with great intrest the comments by Lee Hoos urging Leicester fans to emulate our Derby counterparts to regularly achieve bumper crowds at the Walkers Stadium for this coming season. I couldn't agree more with Lee and would love to see a sell out crowd at every home game - however he seems to have missed out on the point that Derby County appear to treat their fans with a much higher regard than Leicester City do. My main criticism comes from the complete disparity between the benefits enjoyed by Season Tickect Holders. At Derby County Season Ticket Holders enjoy the following benefits: 1) Free tickets to a pre-season friendly 2) Free tickets to the first home Carling Cup fixture 3) Free tickets for future games if they are unable to attend a league game 4) Cheaper prices than Leicester City fans! I therefore challange the club to also emulate Derby County and give us some real benefits to being Season Ticket Holders rather than just enjoying the games for less than our now extortionate match day prices! In particular, I would like to know why point (3) can not be introduced with immediate effect as this would not cost the club any money? Yours sincerely, **** *********. I'll let you all know when I recieve a reply
MC Prussian Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 I suppose Lee Hoos has the typical LCFC E-Mail address...
