ctfcwymans Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 http://www.justgiving.com/martinallenbike/ Allen a director and 4 fans and doing a cycle ride to raise money for a new striker. I think 10k has been raised plus what ever is on Allen's just giving page plus the 4 supporters have a page each. The 2 clubs formed quite a friendship, so i wondered if anyone could help us out with a donation. Many thanks, i will be back and will be keeping a close eye on you in the Championship.

Why on earth would I want to help another team get a striker, if it was charity thats different. I find the whole club friendship thing plain weird.
Uncle Albert Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 Good idea for your area but I can't see many other fans giving money out to fund another team to get a striker.
Tommy G Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 What an odd idea. How you ar going to buy a striker for 10k baffels me. Surely he will be a shocker at that price.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 I like this, Martin Allen does seem to of become quite attached to the club to be doing this to help buy a striker, say whatever you want about his managerial and football style but he really is quite an amusing character, I'll never forget him picking up one of his players and lobbing them back onto the pitch when Cheltenham played us after their player fell over under a light tackle...
Granno Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 It's a nice idea, but there's a difference between us having a friendship with your club, and trying to fund you buying a striker.
General Smuts Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 Haha were all friends until they start asking for money eh! We've already given you strikers in Elvis and Barry, make do with them.

Shrenchel Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Maybe that's when going to games makes a difference in perspective? Can't see how it really makes a difference. Find me more than 1 match going Leicester fan that want to help Martin Allen raise money to buy some tinpoint striker and I'll sit in a basket on the handlebars going down on him for the whole 72 miles.

Nothing beats a bit of dinking.
Daggers Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Can't see how it really makes a difference. There we go then, because I can. I saw many people delighted to see Sam at Hereford and Scunneh. Two and a half thousand of us were applauding Cheltenham at home too. It was marvellous, and one of the highpoints of the season. I'll be popping to a couple of Cheltenham gamesnext season and I'll not be the only one.

BlueSi13 Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I love Cheltenham!! its just a shame they are so bloody far away!!! now a real friend would move closer so we could all hang out on weekends and go fishing or play tennis.........
