Our manager has been picked in a Dramatic twist to manage West Brom next season, the documents are being drafted up and signed as we speak. Ridiculous as he's just forked out alot of money for Stephen Gleeson if sources are to believe.

(Our manager as in MK Dons)

Sky Sports News understands MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteospacer.gif is set to be named the new manager of West Brom within the next 12 to 24 hours.

The former Chelsea and Italy midfielder has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed Tony Mowbrayspacer.gif after Alan Irvinespacer.gif and Dave Jones, spacer.gif of Preston and Cardiff, respectively, were ruled out of the running.

Preston North Endspacer.gif chairman Derek Shawspacer.gif has confirmed manager Alan Irvinespacer.gif will not be leaving the club for West Bromwich Albion.

Irvine had been strongly linked with the vacant managerial position at the Baggies, who are seeking a replacement for Tony Mowbray.spacer.gif

However, despite holding talks with West Brom, the Scottish coach, who took over at Preston in 2007, intends to remain at Deepdale.

WBA, or Newcastle won't win the league now then, and i doubt boro will!

Just don't think he will do as well as he is expected to at WBA.

Too young and unproven for the West Brom job - should've stayed at MK or come back to Switzerland.

He might prove me wrong, but this looks like another Paul Ince Move to me.

Appears to me as if the WBA board, being without a first-team manager for almost two weeks now, panicked and just went for the second option on their two-name shortlist.

He may have achieved wonders at Milton Keynes, but how he'll fare at a more high-profile club like West Brom is going to be another story.

di Matteo tried to get his MK team to play in the way that West Brom enjoy playing. Can't see the change being too damaging for him, really. Still think they'll (WBA) do extremely well again next season.

As for MK, if they're shit next season, I'll love it. :D

I think personally he'll get found out big time, he inherited a winning squad and winning mentality and although he got several things right in his first year he showed alot of naivity in his decisions. With a bit more experience he would of got us promoted. This is of course a big if, but if he does continue to make the mistakes he did all through this season the he will be nowhere near as successful at WBA as people will expect.

He's finally seen sense and moved on to a proper club then...

Wankelman might have to give up the blow for a couple of weeks so he can afford another big name, ex-Big Four celebrity manager to draw in the crowds now.

Well, that's blatantly what'll happen. How else are you going to draw in the crowds unless you pander to the large percentage of your "support" who follow you as a second team?

I totally forgot you were the MK Dons fan mate, short memory span.... arghh bad news for you this then, but to be fair I think your chairman(who personally doesnt bother me) needs to step away from new upcoming managers and go for a bit of experience for a season, at least that way there probably wont be all the poaching.

And also, Di Matteo, however well he did last season, didnt achieve your aim of back to back promotions, unlike peterborough, so maybe its a blessing in disguise to get a new face in, who knows you could of slid out of league 1 if Di Matteo had got complacent.

Best of luck anyway...

I was more talking about the complete tosh before the only moderately valid point. We'll still get people through the gates whoever is manager, our attendance has increased year on year despite fighting down the bottom and being relegated from League 1. People in MK are starting to see us as their team rather than a team who play here now. The other stuff wasn't really necessary at all though.

Please let it be Tony Adams after his performance at Wycombe. :giggle:

Well, thanks for the lecture on what a Leicester fan should and should not post when discussing another team on a Leicester board.

Cheers. I think he'll struggle at WBA next season, he needs to stay in leagues one and two a bit longer to learn the trade, he still makes far too many mistakes which was one of the reasons we didn't get promoted this season. His tactics, signings and persistance of playing players who obviously were losing us games regularly as they weren't good enough was terrible. He did get things right some of the time, such as signing Chadwick and Puncheon (albeit Punch only on loan) but for every Chadwick we had a Sturm, for every Puncheon we had a Cummings, so on and so forth. I still don't understand why we went defensive when winning in the 70th minute, we were often 2 - 0 up at home and completely screwed it up by going defensive when we were obviously not strong enough to survive a 20 minute onslaught from desperate teams.

Mate chillout. I'm sure POTC is just looking for a discussion rather than a argument.

:)

Posting that our chairman is a drug addict is quite frankly ridiculous and you know as well as I do it was completely unnecessary.

Christ on a bike, I make some off the cuff remark about certain rumours surrounding another club's chairman, POTC leaps on the defensive straight away (as per usual) and you all join him. It's not as if I was looking for an argument, my views on McFranchise are well known enough. I was merely commenting on the topic of the thread. lol

Oh come off it, you can't really be that offended by what I posted.

See what I mean about leaping on the defensive?
