The pre-paid card, which costs £9.95, is a modern alternative to cash and offers an excellent method of budgeting and controlling spending. Only the available card balance can be spent, meaning that the temptation to overspend can be left at home, which is particularly pertinent during the current economic climate. The prepaid cards will be available to anybody over the age of 12 and is accepted wherever the Visa sign is displayed. The card can also be topped up online with the funds arriving on the card within 30 seconds. This offers a great alternative to cash, without a lengthy wait. The Foxes Card is the ideal way for parents to educate their children as to the benefits and ways of managing their money and controlling their spending safely, without carrying cash. For under 12's certain merchant codes will be disabled to prevent misuse. There are two versions, including an adult card and a card for 12 to 18 year olds. The two cards will have their own unique features, design and branding which will relate to the club. 'The Foxes Card' will be launched in conjunction with Yes! Money, the European prepaid card operator and will be accepted in over 25 million outlets worldwide and 1.2 million ATM's. Leicester City Football Club Chief Executive, Lee Hoos, believes the card will be an excellent addition to the wallet or purse of all Foxes fans, with the various benefits clear to see. "There are many of our supporters who do not want credit, but still want the benefit of being able to use a card to pay for goods or services, online or on the high street, whilst limiting the amount available to spend. He added: "In today's economic climate we believe this is a very sensible product for our supporters to own. It is something that no City fan should be without." Ralph Lucas, Country Manager for Yes! Money UK and Ireland, is delighted with the partnership. "We are very happy to be launching this scheme with Leicester City Football Club. They have a good track record of working successfully with partners and our product enhances the offering to City supporters with real benefits." He added: "We look forward to supporting the club in their commercial endeavours. UK and European clubs are rapidly waking up to the possibilities offered by these cards, as an affinity product. Fans from 12 years old and upwards and resident in any country can have The Foxes Card. This offers a far wider audience for the club, than a normal card scheme, with the ability to integrate it more thoroughly into the club's daily life." Supporters who purchase 'The Foxes Card' will receive a free copy of the 2008/09 season Champions! DVD, which retails at £15 and is the complete guide to how the Coca-Cola League One title was won.
